30 years after Twilight became an alicorn, the Mane 6 have slowed down, gotten married, raised kids, etc, but after a freak accident they begin to take notice of something more important...their mortality.

Followed by the Pony-Changeling treaty, Changelings and Ponies alike are now integrated with each other's culture and lives, even if the Changelings are constantly blasted by racism by Ponies and Zebras alike. Follow a Changeling colt Veere through his life of racism and hatred by Ponies, and alienation as he is the only Changeling present in Ponyville as of integration periods.

Set during Season 5.

Twilight has finally settled down in her new home. She is happy and has returned to her normal routine. One day, however, Celestia assigns her a royal guard. Twilight is not happy about having a guard. But an event forces her to change her views and learn just what a royal guard is and what it entails.

The Accursed Alicorn Amulet. An item of great power, capable of giving any pony wearing it the power reserved only for alicorns. The power of a god among mortals. All of that, only at one price; your sanity.

Not an easy decision, isn't it? Sure, a mind is something precious and all that, but the temptation of having such a power can be too much for certain ponies. It was too much for Trixie, and she fell for it. It's a good thing that Twilight Sparkle managed to save her from a life of insanity.

But, what would happen if Trixie's sanity wasn't the only price to pay? What else could the Amulet take from Trixie?

While remaining true to modern emergency medical care standards this story brings forth the background characters and (hopefully) provides some much needed comic relief in these troubled times. While this description may appear serious, I, the author, assure you that the story is anything but serious.

Ponyville Volunteer Ambulance corps of the 3rd battalion is run by newly appointed Director of Operations, Starshine. Join this rather extravagant paramedic as she deals with the chaos of running an ambulance service, going on calls, avoiding Princess Celestia, and trying to have a social life!
