After seemingly small lapse of judgment on Rarity's part, Spike is left in an emotionally vulnerable state. An attempt to cheer the saddened dragon by Applejack quickly leads to the development of affection between the pair. But Applejack is not the only one with feelings for the reptilian assistant. Twilight also realizes her romantic love for the dragon as he spends more and more time outside the library and away from her. But her white counterpart soon admits her own feelings for her long-time, scaly suitor as well.

A sort of 'what if' story I thought up of. Let's just assume everything in the show went completely fine and according to story, except Spike wasn't there. Experimenting with first person fiction, be gentle. Tags added as they come. Also, the picture may not seem so, but he does have wings in the story. Just thought I would point that out.

In the wake of the massacre of the Uchiha clan, a mysterious masked man steals a bargaining chip and the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi in one fell swoop, locking them away in the realm of Kamui. The Princesses and Bearers claim they will stop her again, but Nightmare Moon laughs at them. She demonstrates her new power by covering the town of Ponyville in Darkness, swallowing it hole leaving on a crater behind.

But residing in Twilights Castle, Spike is shocked to see what is happening to Ponyville. as he rushes through Ponyville to find out what's happening, so many questions are thrown at him. What are these Dark Creatures? What is the huge Orb in the Sky? and what the heck is this huge Key?

Takes place during 358/2 Days and after season 4.
