I'm OK with you giving more depth to this, but the problem I have is that the RariShy shouldn't happen in this story, as it conflicts with the sequel.
Fluttershy finally gets with Rarity in the first story, but only in the first story, not before.

Don't worry, it won't happen in this story. I was putting a little more backing to the whole RariShy thing happening in the other one. Rarity has no clue that Fluttershy likes her, only Fluttershy and Rainbow do. And it was established, I do believe, that Rainbow knew before the other story about the crush.
At least, I intended to let it be that way.
Fluttershy and Rainbow both thought it was going to be a nice time, Fluttershy dating Rarity and Rainbow dating some other pony. Rarity just knows that they're friends, and thus she's trying to help figure out how to help both of them.
I guess I need to work on becoming better at letting people know, since I just confused everyone.

I... didn't think it would be that confusing. I borrowed the idea from "The Incredibly Embarrassing Parents of Rainbow Dash. The idea is that two mares who really want a child, and really love each other, can produce one. It isn't Rocket Science, or any science. It's just a way, I believe, to justify how a society that is 3 parts female to 1 part male (being lenient on that, even) could continue to actually function.

Alright, we know friendship and love are both tangible forces in the MLP:FiM universe. After we take that into account, the question of how goes away. If we look at it from a normal perspective, of course it doesn't make any sense. But we actually can't "feed on love" and love doesn't actually rejuvenate us.

I don't know what you want me to say. In the same vein that love can be tangibly used to rejuvenate use, sap our strength, and so forth, it could be used to do just about anything. Actually, that was one of the biggest lessons that was learned from the Canterlot Wedding episode. Love will triumph over everything, even when the element bearers completely borked it.
Love triumphs, and in the MLP universe it seems to be that love is the strongest force out there. I try to not give myself a headache trying to figure out the logic of the universe.

I would argue that this would be one of the natural ways for ponies to have to be conceived in the MLP:FiM universe if you actually want to believe that Equestria is a viable society that has a long future ahead of it. I say this because, as we might have discovered, the males are in the minority. When we look at the cast, we shall see that there are a large amount of women when compared to men.
When we look at the background ponies, and take into account which ones would be male and female, the ratio gets better.... but this is still a female-driven society. This is still a society that would have to find a way to reproduce without the absolute need for a male.
Yes, it is magical. Everything in Equestria is magical, though. The earth doesn't revolve around the sun, and the moon doesn't revolve around the earth. If we take the mythos at face value, then the world of Equestria is flat and the sun and moon are actually raised and lowered magically. Weather is created, and according to some stories there is even "pegasus magic" that helps them fly through the air and do weather-related things.
So, yes, for Equestria to function there would have to be a different way, It couldn't just be that males are used as breeding workers (dare I say slaves?). The only way for it to work would be for this "magic of love" idea to be plausible.
