Pinkie Pie decides to host what she has dubbed the "Best Birthday Party Ever" and Rainbow Dash searches all over trying to find a really cool gift for her, one that can only be achieved with a sense of self sacrifice, to show her how much she really cares about her and to thank Pinkie for everything she has done for Rainbow Dash and her friends.

Sometimes, a spark is just a spark. Nothing comes of it, nothing grows. But sometimes, a spark can become a fire, burning bright and powerful.
It will not last forever. But it has a beauty all its own.

In a small hiccup of insensitivity, Rarity finds out a secret Rainbow Dash hid from everypony she knew, and does so in a way she regrets.

To fix her mistake involves a trade, a fear for a fear.

Rainbow Dash decides to tackle one of these by taking her to a place where few ponies ever go.

To get to that place, they're going to go up.
