A mix of strange circumstances means that Gilda and Gallus are not spending the holidays in Griffonstone
"enjoying," or rather surviving, the Blue Moon Festival. Instead, they are in Equestria for Hearth's Warming. Can Gilda put her griffon grump aside to enjoy a more wholesome holiday? Maybe she can with Gallus's help.

Written for Teofilo for Jinglemas 2023

At Teofilio's request, Gilda and Gallus are step-siblings in this story.

Nightmare Moon rules Equestria with an iron hoof. Her reign is glorious, and her methods are cruel. On top of that, her short fuse is known across the land as the most dangerous weapon Equestria has ever seen.

This rage tends to be a problem when it is unleashed around her husband, Anon. The poor human is very squishy, and although it's unintentional, he often bears the brunt of her fury. This can sometimes be... fatal.

Thankfully, Nightmare Moon has mastered a spell to make this less of a problem. Nothing will come between her and her husband. Not even death.

...Something that Anon has grown uncomfortably used to.

Princess Celestia is with Princess Luna at a holiday play. To attend is expected of the royalty, but Luna is still new to this modern expectation. Just sit and enjoy, right? It doesn't look very difficult, as royal duties go.

Well, it looks like Scootaloo will spend another Hearth's Warming without parents. Unless she can wrangle up some. At least one pony around here should be willing to help her wish come true.

Marble Pie is hoping for a bit of change in her life, but with her father, mother and sister still resistant to it, all she can do is simply stay quiet and soldier on. But that doesn't take away her desire to at least find out what else there is to life besides aching for a lost love, or doing the same thing every day.

This is a Jinglemas story for FanOfMostEverything. The man. The legend. HE WHO WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING COMMENTS FROM.

His request for this year was: No genre notes, but I'd like to see something with Limestone and/or Marble Pie.

So here we go!

If there's a holiday, then somepony's probably overdecorated for it. The Greening has seen entire homes blend into the local grass, while Lambvent shrouds neighborhoods in wool and Hearth's Warming traditionally welcomes guests into homes through making it impossible to see where the front door is. But if Ponyville's going to get dressed up anyway, then Town Hall might as well have a little contest built around it. The mayor signed off on that.

Which meant there was a period of at least two seconds in which Marigold Mare completely forgot her town hosts the Bearers -- and that she'd just given them a reason to compete against each other.

Shall we count down to the inevitable one home visit at a time? In six, five, four, three...

Several months ago, the little fillies now known as Lilac and Firefly first arrived in Equestria. Despite intense effort, they've found no hint of a way to return home, or to take back their humanity.

That would all be bad enough, were it not for the dark town they've found themselves in--Willowbrook is strange even by Equestrian standards, the domain of a faceless cult that worships dark beings and hates the Equestrian princesses.

In the coldest part of the year, the two have few connections left to the homes they left behind. Maybe together they can find a way to bring some light into the deepest darkness of winter.

This story was written as a silly little side project for Sisters of Willowbrook. The characters here depicted are meant to be in their first year in Equestria, fairly early in that story. If you haven't read it, you probably should to make sense of this one.

I wrote this for Bitera at some point, but it took a little while to finally make its way here to fimfiction. Just in time for another festive season!

This story is a sequel to The Enchanted Kingdom

Twilight confides in Rarity after both wake up from different nightmares.

Short ficlet set in The Enchanted Library-verse. Having read all the way up to The Enchanted Kingdom is necessary for context and impact, so I wouldn't recommend reading this if you haven't finished that (or don't want spoilers for TEL).

Somepony in a Mare-Do-Well suit has taken to visiting Rarity's bedroom at night. Rarity loves every moment of it, but despite her paramour asking her not to investigate, she just can't help wondering...

I started this story with the intention of entering it in the 263rd Writeoff, "Go Steady in the Dark," back in August of 2023, but that was not to be.

Hearth's Warming songs. Aren't they just the most annoying things ever? Sure, some of them may sound good the first time around, but see if anything still holds up after the hundredth repetition. The gramophone stand sure won't, especially once somepony lands the well-earned kick. And yes, this latest specimen is a fairly new composition, but Twilight already hates Hearth's Warming Wham! on a level usually reserved for falsified scientific proofs. Since nopony is going to be playing anything except holiday songs for the next moon...

And yet Twilight is convinced that it's possible for her to reach the holiday itself without ever having to hear that 'song' again. She's willing to make a wager on that.

She's wrong, of course. That's the fun part.
