The world is forever changed. For ponies of Equestria and beyond, new additions to their bodies have occurred. Things once thought reserved for the most regal, most important ponies, have now become commonplace. When everyone is the same, what makes them special? When ponies share the same interest, how does that make them distinct? And most importantly, if everyone is an alicorn princess, do they still have to pay taxes?

Come, reader, and learn the story of the magnificent Princess of the Day. Part of it, at least, for the story of an immortal must be without end. Only part of it, but enough to see who she is, and what she longs for.

In the space of two days, Princess Twilight Sparkle completely overthrew Sunset Shimmer's dominance as the queen of Canterlot High. That Sunset's rule of several years folded quickly to a culturally-ignorant person of another species entirely is suspect, along with her decision to invade Equestria, and her immediate redemption at the hands of the Elements.

What if all this inconsistency was deliberate, to hide Sunset's real master plan?

Because Equestrian magic has a knack for showing up at the most inconvenient moments, Sunset and her friends find themselves trapped in their new video game. They don't know how to get out, they don't know how to win the game, and some of them don't even know that they're in a game in the first place.

But don't worry, because if Sunset had a plan it wouldn't last five minutes in this pseudo-political mess anyway.

Having finally regained her memories of Apple Bloom's true origins, Luna decided that, in the interest of all of Equestria, action had to immediately be taken to prevent the potentially catastrophic consequences of the filly's secret nature.

So she called the six bearers of the Elements of Harmony, along with her daughter, to Canterlot, so that they could rid the filly of the dark magical essence within her.

It did not go well. Not in the least.

Sunset Shimmer has learned a lot about friendship. Probably almost as much as her mentor Twilight Sparkle.
But it takes a trip through the mirror to reveal just how far she has gotten in her studies, and how far she has really followed her mentor on the road of friendship.
