Written for a sadfic contest (I won!); the plot is in honor of my mother-in-law, who wasn't so lucky, and I suspect wouldn't actually appreciate inspiring a story about ponies.

An odd request from Princess Celestia stirs up a new hurdle in the life of the mane six.
With one month until the next Gala, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and the rest of the gang are given extra tickets. Why? Simply so that they may ask their special stallions to attend with them. But with one month until the Gala comes one month to choose who to bring.

When a mishap occurs with Celestia's bathroom scale, an ancient protocol that may just doom Equestria is set into motion. With the entire palace staff now conspiring against her, the sun goddess must not only contend mountains of paper work, dancing celery sticks, and steroid pumped stallions, but a sister who will take this chance to torture Celestia any way she can as payback for her banishment. With the fate of all good people and ponies in doubt, one thing's for certain: saving two worlds would be one hell of an adventure. And if adventure has a name, it must be Daring Do… or is that Indiana Jones?

So what happens when a completely ordinary pony living in the Republican Capital City of Ponyville woke up one morning and discovered that one has appeared on her flank?

After receiving a letter about Democracy from Twilight, Princess Celestia decides that she needs to destroy this idea before a revolt starts up.
