Everypony remembers Tirek, the infamous, magic-stealing monster that walked Equestria all those years ago. However, few remember his brother, or the sacrifice he made to secure the future of ponykind.

Spike on the other hand remembers Scorpan quite well. Far more than he should, in fact. When memories from the distant past begin to emerge, memories of Scorpan and a dragon that looks uncannily similar to Spike, he has many questions, and very few answers.

Why does Spike have memories of a time eons past, and more importantly, why does the name ‘Scorpan’ sound so familiar?

Spike, like many teenage boys, is at a loss for romance. Kissing girls is as foreign as shedding for a pony. Seeking guidance, Spike turns to the one mare he trusts with such a matter: Cadence.

Taking him under her wing, Cadence sets up practice dates for the young dragon. But with each date, something grows underneath the surface. The dividing line blurs, and practice soon becomes reality...

Celestia has told me that a dragon's average lifespan is two thousand years. That is a long time be alone. It gives you a long time to reflect on the friends you lost, something I'm not ready to do. However, the years have aged me mentally, and I have learned the difference of my friends mortality compared to my own.

While my friends withered away, one remained, one that is near and dear to my heart. I know I will lose her eventually too. The chances are, I'll lose her really soon. But until that faithful day, I'll enjoy every moment with her.

She's all I have left. I'd be lost without her.

Soarin and Braeburn are really close friends; almost inseparable. They go almost everywhere together, do almost everything with each other, and even share the same home with each other. They are like two peas in a pod, so close that you'd think they were gay.

But the problem is, they aren't. Why is this a problem? Because everypony in town thinks they are. Will the duo be able to convince the others that they are in fact straight without ruining their friendship...or will they want to convince anypony?

Barb feels insecure about her appearance. All she thought of herself as was an ugly, insignificant dragon in a sea of ponies that easily were more worthy of attention than her. She begins to slip into depression, distancing herself from those who care about her...

Until Elusive offers to spruce her up, showing her that even though she's a dragon, she can still be beautiful inside and out.

Twilight sends Spike to the Crystal Empire for a few days so she can concentrate on some official business. When Spike arrives, Cadence is too busy to really spend any quality time with the dragon. The only pony that seems to have the time for him is Shining Armor.

To keep Spike occupied, Shining spends the day with him, walking, talking, and just hanging out with him. Even when he does have to work, he takes Spike with him and makes him an honorary Royal Guard for the day.

Let's just hope that Spike won't let it go to his head...

Gummy is the best pet in the world! He always listens to me, never moans or complains when I talk too much, and always comes along with me without any resistance. Sure, he isn't much of a talker, but he's a really swell listener. Every day I spend with him is super fantastic!

Yet, Mr. and Mrs. Cake always look sad every time I play with Gummy. Those sillies! Don't they know that Gummy couldn't hurt me even if he wanted to? He's all gums! Duh! Even my friends have been showing "concerns" about my relationship with Gummy.

I don't know why they're being such party poopers all of a sudden!

It's nice living with somepony you're close to. It's even nicer to share the same bed with that somepony, like Lyra and Bon Bon. Sometimes, it's just nice to sit next to them and watch your loved one sleep, especially when they talk in their sleep.

But when Bon Bon catches Lyra talking in her sleep, she isn't going to like what she hears.

Why would her mentor put her through this? Why would she make her suffer like that? She claims it's to teach her how to deal with pain...
