I was going to have the MC remember both the lewd heartsong, and a pair of ponies(Fancy and Fluer) having fun in front of his crate, with the stallion being submissive. Oh boy! It's not often I get to go into useless world building details that don't matter in the slightest! Eeeeeeee!
Okay, so I've seen multiple writing styles used in multiple books in Ponyville, let alone the rest of the pony controlled lands. So I separated those into three basic categories.
-Normal writing(Earth Pony Runes).
This letter system evolved to look similar to the English alphabet, but more angular(similar to viking runes) since they were digging lines into the dirt with their hooves, or chiselling words onto stone tablets. It's short and simple compared to the other two tribes, but that makes it easier to read and understand.
But, that simplicity also combined a few letters together. Take i and e for example. Instead of two separate letters, it's just an 'i', but the dot is instead an accent angling either left or right, depending on the correct sound.
(Here, Neil just discovered that little quirk in pony writing. But by chapter 1 in the main story, he's had enough time to hear it stated as Donut Joe's multiple times)

-Squiggles(Cloud Writing).
This, as the name implies, originated in pegasus cultures to send messages long distances, normally between military outposts. This particular form of writing requires strict discipline and attention to detail how the clouds are shaped to convey the proper message. Afterall, unicorn and earth pony sight is sub-par to a pegasus' ability to notice fine details at a distance.
For a brief example, let's look at S and S, but imagine both are a string of the same squiggly letters. The variation in the curves could differentiate, for example, a message saying 'we attack the eastern lands at high noon' to 'we attack the western lands at midnight'.

-Magical symbols(Unicorn hieroglyphs).
As ancient unicorns developed their magical prowess, with each new discovery they would apply a symbol to that magical effect. For example, light was represented as the sun. Whereas a distant light could be a star. Over time, each of these symbols could be used to describe more complex messages. By the time of Princess Platinum, it was probably one of the most complex written languages around.

-Unified Script
After unification, all three tribes had to settle on a single language. To cut the long, complicated process short, Unicorn hieroglyphs and Cloud Writing were both veto'd for being too complex for the other two subsets of ponies to learn easily, leaving Earth Pony Runes. However, Unicorns felt it was too ugly, and beneath them to write that.
One night during the negotiations Smart Cookie, Private Pansy, and Clover the Clever came together to discuss this particular topic, and came up with the combination of Earth Pony Runes and Cloudwriting. This new font looked more pleasing to the eye, and flowed into each letter in a satisfying manner for both unicorns and pegasi, while still staying relatively simplistic to understand. They called this new form of writing Unified Script, and brought it to the counsel for approval the very next day.
(It's pretty much Earth Pony Runes, but written in cursive handwriting. And that's your out of story useless lore dump of the day!

But if you were hoping for a baker's mare to get her donut stuffed full of fresh cream, well, there are plenty of mares that fit the description without a R63. Unless there's a happy little potions accident, of course.

On one hand, that is some pretty cool world building and lore with some thought put into it, on top of both the fun main story and entertaining side story here.
On the other, no creme filled R63 Donut Ponut? Would've been novel, but looking forward to what is next regardless of where/when it happens.
Straight up thought the accented i was some fuckery from Eris to imply further fuckery on "Joi" (If an i represents a mare's bits, an i with an accent could be loosely interpreted as anal)
Neat. Though I'll be honest, I'm having trouble visualizing the crate-setup Neil's got going on. Is it like, basically just a normal shipping crate as we'd be familiar with in real life, just made of wood? Otherwise it seems like it'd be kinda cramped for proper Gloryhole action.
That being said, sort of hope to see a Chapter which is a take on the aftermath from his and Luna's little spat in Oral Jousting. Something something "if thou shall not stay thy foul tongue, then We shall put it to a use most befitting of it!"
At least his efforts to keep from being found mostly worked.

Thanks! One of the things that constantly annoys me about the show is the various forms of writing we see. Of course, Twilight being Twilight, she would know how to read all forms of Equestrian. But that would also mean multiple copies of each book, written in various different fonts. I had to make sense of it, in some way.
