Gotta jet!

We all know the story. The Storm King attacked Mount Aris looking for the Pearl of Transformation, forcing the Hippogriffs to transform into Sea Ponies and flee underwater, leading to the formation of Seaquestria. Eventually after a visit from the Elements Skystar becomes the first of her kind to return to the surface.

But what if instead Silverstream snuck up to the surface on a regular basis. What if during these trips to the surface she met Gallus, who fled from Griffinstone.

Hmm interesting take with these 2, looking forward to more soon!

A blue Griffin. Named Gallus.

You misspelled Griffon.

Griffin/griffon/gryphon is one of those words like tsar/czar/tzar/csar or Hanukkah/Chanukah, there’s no truly universally agreed-upon correct spelling, and since it’s a loan word from a language that doesn’t use the Roman alphabet there pretty much literally can’t be a correct English spelling.

Correct. From the research I did whichever spelling people are most familiar with seems to depend on where they live. People who have done extensive research into Griffin mythology refer to them as “gryphons” as that is the oldest documented spelling of the word. “Griffon” as a spelling is more common in America while “Griffin” as a spelling is more common in Europe. When I was writing this I typed it “Griffon” but it autocorrected to “Griffin” because I live in Europe and as such my device is set to English UK as it’s language. All spellings are correct.

All points of which are true, and as such it's ultimately up to the author to decide which spelling they'd wish to favor...however, I should add that, in terms of MLP, the "griffon" spelling was the favored spelling in-show, and as such, it's the one most fans would be used to. Something to consider.

Hmm this is a very interesting star of a story and also an interesting take on of a what-if scenario instead of skystar silverstream was the one who snuck out and explore and instead of the main six it was Gallus I'm kind of having some sense of deja vu about Little Mermaid be part of your world type of thing

but this was pretty interesting let's see how this goes

Gallus smiled. “Come on. I’ll show you a few things.”

I have a strong feeling of another reference like a whole new world type of thing

Yeah I kind of ship between those two 🥰

Again very interesting so it looks like silverstream was curious about the rain which she doesn't know what it is and why did it come from the sky but then she saw a creature and it turns out it is a griffon and she saved him and to their shocking they introduced themselves to each other and the Griffon name Gallus and they're about to continue on until they saw the storm King's ship and it looks like they had to find a shelter so they can hide from the storm I wonder where they're going to stay at and how this will go guess we'll find out next time

I am well aware of this fact. Given the show is an American production and most of the fan base is American this is hardly surprising. Again, I live in Europe so Griffin is the spelling I’m used to and the one I went with.

D-F

is it just me or does the coverart look vaguely like the fucking "think mark, think!" meme?

Actually the cover is based on a scene from the Little Mermaid.

I hope for the continuation of this fan fiction and I hope that you will not throw it

I have by no means forgotten about this fic, it’s just a little hard to write since I’m more of a G5 writer than a G4 writer (see my blog post for more details).

Didn't actually, both are correct! As is "Gryphon" all synonyms!
