That’s interesting. Not going to one or the other extreme. In the beginning she wanted to be alone but at this point she’s bordering on codependency. It’s nice to see her get back into her skin a bit.

That was a good story.

Really enjoyable, bite-sized fic. Twilight is definitely the kind of pony to be so busy with her friends and responsibilities that she'd never check in with herself, by herself unless somepony like Cadence pointed it out.

And with how much this upcoming responsibility has been aching on my heart, I don’t know what to do without them there. It feels like I’m deep in water, and I don’t know how to get out.”

considering Cadance is almost the same generation as Twilight and is also a mortal-turned-alicorn-turned-ruler, it makes a lot of sense for Twilight to be talking to her about this! they sure do have a lot in common that way

“An outing? By myself?” Twilight almost laughed, the idea sounded absurd on its face. Why would she go somewhere alone? Then there’d be nopony to talk to!

oof, all too believable for Twilight, going from friendless workaholic to codependent workaholic

She had a new friend to make.

And they had a lot of catching up to do.

aww, so that is what the title was referring to! and a very necessary one for Twilight to make. how very true to life!

lovely little look at something that is both a truth for Twilight and for all of us. thank you for writing!

Only this time, Shining and Sunburst were out playing games with several other stallions while they also took care of Flurry Heart.

One day, they might find a tabletop system Flurry couldn’t break in half. This was not that day.

But sometimes, when I need somepony to talk to, it feels like they’re all busy. Like some kind of twisted fate has it so I can’t reach out to them.

It’s never a good sign when the characters become aware of the narrative contrivances you’ve put in place.

I like the idea here, but I find the execution lacking. Especially Twilight Sparkle, former recluse, not understanding how to spend time by and with herself. Forget, perhaps, but this feels less like a reminder than a heretofore unconsidered revelation. A good effort, but this fell flat for me.
