I don't think it's supposed to be anthro but it feels anthro and I can't really tell why.

The amputation doesn't seem well justified, factory farming getting the last percentages out? Sure believable but them willingly giving up their limbs just to boost their production? Maybe a few odd ones but not at scale, also the weird do they have rights or not, they aren't property but yet the farm can require them to have their limbs removed?

There is a large and abrupt time jump wherein she goes from taking a tour to having worked there a year skipping over her getting personally introduced to this, gaining her cutie mark and the later implied scene where she was going to have to make the decision to stay or leave before she got too big, her thoughts on the removal at the time and as it's a whole year later it's just left implied that she's had her legs amputated it isn't actually stated.

I want to start saying this was a great tale.

I myself wish that mares did have to at least get pregnant to get their milk going. One could wish that Almond was being encouraged to breed to perhaps produce more mares with potential to match her output. Or that at least one mare on tour day had been pregnant to lay out parenting options at that point.

I do wish the tale had covered some of that skipped over year where she slowly goes from mare to immobile in the factory as her breasts expand in size. As well as her getting her cutie mark and making the decision at that point of no return in her breasts expansion get to the point where she can't walk anymore.
