In the aftermath of Nightmare Moon's banishment, Celestia was left with grief. She lost Luna to the Nightmare's corruption, the Castle of the Two Sisters lay in ruin, and the Everfree was scarred by the battle. Despite everything, ponies call on her to lower the moon. So, the Princess is left with the Moon and her grief.

That was a good story.

So the moon can "talk" to Celestia? Meaning that her (potentially) only remaining friend is a constant reminder of what she had done to her sister. Wow, props on finding a way to her back-story even sadder.

Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed it :)

You got it! I left a lot for interpretation so readers like you could also make their own assumptions like with the talking! But also the relationship between the Moon and Celestia was left open-ended so it can be as sweet (She and the Moon are friends and find solace in each other :scootangel:) or as heart-wrenching (Celestia can't bear to talk to the Moon because of the pain it brings :raritydespair:) as you'd like :raritywink: In any case, thank you so much! Glad I could find new angles and introduce new ideas :pinkiehappy:

So, much emotion that was pretty good.

My pleasure.
I'll always give kudos to those whom I feel deserve them the most.😎

About the ten year anniversary of Lullaby for a Princess by ponyphonic and just as powerful as ever. Thanks.

Omg this comment made me so happy!!! Thank you!!

This'un is going on the favorites list.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The setting, the emotions, your headcanon concerning the Sun and Moon...all excellent.

Only one phrase I found...jarring:

Celestia figured it was time for the Moon to be lowered now anyways, having only missed a day to the perpetual night.

I hardly think Celestia would use the term 'anyways,' even when alone, but other than that one nitpick, this one is going in my Special Folder.

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.

I was about to post this song (or the animation), but you beat me to it.

As such I need to improvise and post one of the newer song instead:

Great story, a fun and quick read. Thanks for writing.

A story about Celestia being filled with crippling angst and regret after banishing her sister to the moon? :D My favorite! You shouldn't have!
