There's an old story told to foals about a train that goes to every place in the universe that ponies can imagine, and even more places that they can't imagine. It's a train that arrives only once a lifetime. It's a train that picks up lost souls and carries them to other realms.

Those stories say that if a pony rides it all the way to the final stop, they learn the secret that all alicorns know.

Inspired by Galaxy Express 999. Updated irregularly.

I'm not gonna lie, when I saw 'Galaxy Express 999 pastiche' and Rarity, I wasn't expecting her in the role of Tetsuro.

Looks interesting.

I'll save it for when it's done, though.

I am so confused as to why this was on the front page but it actually looks quite interesting.
I'm offering much encouragement

“I look forward to the journey,” Diana said. “I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

Rarity does Galaxy Express 999? Yep, I'm sold.

I don't know Jack about Galaxy Express, but I'd like to see where this train takes us.

So, the Nightmare is after Rarity ... and why do I feel that "Diana" and the Nightmare are connected (possibly the same)?

I hope she finds what she’s looking for.

Atch, regolith in a fine coat of hair? That's gonna itch like all get out. And you'll never get it out of fabric either, that carpet is a goner.

Sure hope Rarity didn't breathe too much of it, stuff is murder on your lungs.

But hey the view, the view makes it all worth it, a perspective worth going no few miles of ground.

Rarity still couldn’t remember what had happened in that interval before she’d found herself in Hollow Shades.

It was easy enough to tell what it was, even with the unusual script and branding that Rarity couldn’t read.

It's a train that travels the dreamscape, isn't it.

What she will learn? That being alicorn is not such a blessing, as she might to think before?

That was a good chapter.

Interesting. I imagine she somehow got sent back in time, and Diana is a pre-ascension Luna.

“Can you imagine a thousand years here, alone?”

I can sense a strong connection between Luna and 'Diana.' Given Luna's role in the first chapter, and all that stuff about being lonely on the Moon. The hints are everywhere.

“I believe it’s called fusion food,” Diana said.

You'd think it'd be the Sun where they serve that. :trollestia:

What a glorious chapter. Basically every joke landed perfectly. I also really love this line:

By most accounts she was in wonderful shape, but that shape was ornamental rather than athletic.

Some haunting, melancholy ideas here, in contrast to the previous realm.

I still believe there should be some kind of lesson to Rarity about alicornship.

That was a good chapter.

Shouldn’t Rarity be traveling with a friend?

This chapter was so good. Clostra had such a character, it could be a setting for a full story.
If I ever run an RPG that this could fit in I will shamelessly steal it.
Also, the idea that Diana is not in some way related to Luna is pretty ruined. Just not sure how yet.

Hi, G1! I see you. Makes me wonder if i missed others.

Diana can be Nightmare Moon.

Somehow, Diana's words hit harder than the setting did.

No, that wasn’t true. Nightmare Moon had been a force of evil and darkness that tried to plunge Equestria into endless night. She was nowhere near as bad as the average client. Rarity would have considered serving the ancient evil if she’d offered Rarity the power to force demanding noblemares to listen to reason about deadlines and alterations.

Thus explaining the existence of one particular Rarity in an alternate timeline lmao.

Well done, Mils. The train might not be for you, but that was a good show.

They are like in the Twilight 's head.

That was a good chapter goodluck on the next one.

I remember the chapter.

Then the postman never left there.:pinkiecrazy:

Ooh I loved this chapter! I wonder what would happen if the prince ever did find his memories. Would the realm just disappear? Or would it linger even without him?

I know that the true contents of the first vault are intended to be nightmarish, but it made me wonder what it would be like to be innocent, but to have enemies so powerful that they can manipulate the fabric of reality. Perhaps the beautiful alicorn was the true form, and the silver pyramid was the form it was given when it was banished. This is a land of illusions, after all.

That was a good chapter. It was nice to see Rarity and Diana have some proper bonding time outside of exploring dangerous places.

Rarity shook her head. “They’re all perfectly fine designs, but none of them quite sparked with you. I saw you weren’t terribly enthused. Putting that robe back on you… that was what made you happy, not a new suit or fancy dress.”

And that's Rarity in a nutshell.

“It’s called a black pudding,” the barmaiden said.

No, it couldn't be ....

“You can’t still be sick,” Diana sighed.

It is! :pinkiehappy:

Clostra is a very .. interesting realm ....

Definitely thinking Diana is linked to (or is) Luna or Nightmare Moon.

LOL, she was like those people asking for help in an online forum and then not sharing afterwards.

“I’m very familiar with them,” Diana said quietly.

Oh ho. Well that certainly gets the mind going about Diana.

Your train station was used as a convenient focus point for a Trial of Possession.

Goddamn Clanners.
