Summer Knight

I like to write about ponies going on adventures. And crying. And kissing. Sometimes all at once.

E

Discord's magic kept Fluttershy alive for centuries. Yesterday, she decided that it was finally time to go.

Twilight Sparkle goes to Discord's home to say goodbye to her oldest friend. Upon arriving, she learns that—after all this time—she's just a few minutes too late.

You're welcome

That was wonderful…:fluttercry: I didn’t expect that ending, but it works so well…

Is it possible to cry reading while also vibing to anime? ‘Cause I think that just happened with me.

I’m actually not sure what to say... uh, it was very well-done. And I could feel the emotions of Twilight and Discord through the screen.

I'll pass that along to Short-tale!

This story’s so sad and cute.

I’ve never lost anybody particularly close to me, but I can imagine that sometimes you just want 5 more minutes, and this story did that very well.

"But that's a pony thing!" Discord protested. "Why is it happening to me? "

Not everything has to be a pony thing even creatures like yourself feel sad when you lose somebody very special it's normal and yes it hurts

"Aren't I your friend?" Twilight asked.

"You?"

Twilight nodded. "I consider you a friend. I have for a long time. In all these years, haven't you ever thought of me that way?"

Yeah if I remember correctly Discord in that episode season 4 Twilight's Kingdom she consider you as her friend or did you forget about it

This was a very sweet and bitter story and I had to admit Discord not knowing how to react to Lost must be hard for him good thing Twilight was there for him even though she's also in grief as well losing a friend

I was 13 minutes late to my grandmother passing. In the last hour she was lucid. And she got to say goodbye. To almost everyone.

I wish this could happen. I wish I could say I love you and I hope you enjoy yourself... keep in touch with all people you know. It meens more than you could ever think to thoess people in your lives

This was a good and very sad one-shot.

Very nice. The ending especially.

OH MY HEART, THAT ENDING!!
This got me good, though. My throat hurts; it's one of those types of emotions. I felt it too well, but that ending... It was perfect.

holding up thumb between loud sniffles

it gud

I must admit, this story started a little bit off to my liking. It seemed to be leaning a tad too much on melodrama without allowing the reader to take that in for themselves instead of having it overly explained. However, by the midpoint you found your balance and were able to put together a rather touching scene. The premise of the story is in itself quite solid and I really like the idea behind it, it lends itself very well to drama. I'm also glad you explained at the end the reason why they could not wait, so good catch. My favorite part had to be Discord admitting to being Twilight's friend, even though I kinda wish that idea had been more present for him from the start, considering all they have done for each other over the series (even if Discord was an asshole about it). Nevertheless, I've always been able to appreciate the idea of two people who stick together because there is no one else. Fluttershy's wish to fade away is also in-character, and I thank you for not making the nature of their relationship too explicit; I figure they were just friends to the end.
Overall, you took on a usual tragedy people live with, incorporated into the logic of the world of MLP, and handled it with a degree of respect of maturity that served the story quite well. I really enjoyed this fic.
