Do people really get poisoned by nurses that often?

No, not really. But after 5000 years of being a death, she's heard it a lot.

This story looks interesting so far, but where did you come up with the idea of ponies not dying even though there was a brief shot of a funeral in one episode? Is it just because they can't say the word on the show?

Ehehe, well, yes and no. That's why I have the "Alternate Universe" tag on there. This version of Equestria is immortal.

Excited to read this its well done and the character is relatable so that makes it a very interesting story to watch. Can't wait to see more!

still a good start, keep it up.

Good story, i hope to see more🙂

Awww, this chapter gave me so many feels! :pinkiesad2: :pinkiehappy:

There was just ONE little detail she wasn't informed of...

No-one ever actually dies in Equestria.

But, what about Applejack's parents?

loooove!!!!!

8917605
yeah i like that reason.

8917605
Makes sense. Even with the Perfect Pair, they never do say they are dead specifically. ..

Missing for a long time would get the same results.

I really like this story keep it up my dude. Interesting concept

Immortality and invulnerability are two very different concepts, so are the ponies both at the same time? That just wouldn't make sense in any story or reality.

If no one ever died thatn their would be people who knew luna.
This whole premise recks any story.

Unless they don't die, but instead something else happens. Like maybe you live to a certain point, you transcend. Not die, but go to another level of existence. I'very seen it a couple of times on Star Trek.

Alicorns are there to keep an eye on the ones that are not transended.

considering its been implied death' show no emotion, and that she was forcibly drowned? no.. she does not.

wow lily might be the only character that comes close to replacing twilight for me.....and thats saying a lot...good job i guess???:twilightoops:

They're not invulnerable, they're immortal. The reason Lily can't hurt them is because she's a Death, and a Death's scythe can only harm non-living entities. If Lily was to punch somepony, they'd definitely feel it.

Regardless of how it happens, I do appreciate the feedback. As for the whole "Luna" situation, there very well could be ponies as old as Luna is, although I'm not going to be delving THAT deep into the whole "immortality" bit of the story. The main focus isn't how old the ponies are, remember.

8923098
Going by that logic there should still be deaths occasionally due to falling a few stories or other common accidents that lead to death. And wouldn't life threatening bacteria and viruses still be killing ponies every once in a while as well?

Immortality is a finicky thing, but something common that happens always seems to be that injuries heal given enough time, and diseases (not counting chronic illnesses such as cancer) will eventually go away too. On the same end, there's no guarantee that certain diseases even exist.

And finally, remember, it's an alternate universe, so some things can be chalked up to that as well.

Not to dismiss your thoughts, however. I always enjoy critiques on my stories. If I'm going to be honest, the whole "immortality" thing wasn't supposed to be the main focus as much as it was Lily being trapped somewhere unfamiliar with no information as to why she's even there. There IS an underlying theme here, and I feel like it's being lost in translation. Let me be clear when I say that there IS a reason to Lily's reassignment, and it's not necessarily a "vacation" either.

As always, I appreciate the feedback, and I'm sorry if there are parts of it that don't quite make sense. I hope you enjoy the story nonetheless~

Thank you for the clarification, I was confused on some aspects of the story.

Holy moly!!! This just gets better and better!!!

A being over 5k calling a mortal mom.....nice. I wonder how high Flutter's resume would increase. I mean making a spirit reality bender become a loyal best friend(who maybe a lover depending on views), and now making a Death her child.... what else will happen.

makes sense. despite doing her job for so long, she is only 12...

This fic is do god danm adorable that I might just die from it keep up the good work

There was a guy who had soup put in where his blood was supposed to be...

He didn't live long after that believe it or not

Amazing ending.

I feel glad for Lily, after all that she's been through, she deserves what she got.

I hope we will see more on Lily's adventures in equestria, but if not, this was a great ending to a great story.

While short this was a amazing read!

Thanks so much for all the kind words! I deeply appreciate it and I'm glad you were here for the ride!~ I'm not yet sure what I plan for Lily in the future, if I'll write a sequel or not, etc. But regardless, I'm very happy you enjoyed it and I thank you for sticking it out~

8935777
Wow, got it. How did that happen?

This is an excellent story, good work.

Thank you so much! It means a lot!

I was talking to someone else.

So equestria never can experience the fullness of life because their is neither life and death in it.

8936565 In a sense, yes. This _version_ of Equestria is an "afterlife" (you'll see why I put it in quotes in a minute) of sorts, where the concepts of "life" and "death" don't exist. When you're born immortal, you don't need to worry about these concepts, in a whole world where every creature is immortal, the concepts themselves don't exist. But to say that the Equestrians aren't "alive" is a bit flawed. It was never implied that Equestria is a true afterlife and these are the spirits of Equestrians who've passed on, but rather they just can't die in general.

That being said, saying that Equestrians aren't truly "alive" is inaccurate. They're as alive and well as you or me, they just see things a little differently.

This was a very good story.
