Evilhumour

Well, this a fan of MLP who has just started to watch the show. And I like what I see!

T

This story is a sequel to The Pieces Lie Where They Fell

Second in the Pieces-verse. The new Bearers have won the day, but the war is not over. Now, even as they and others deal with the aftermath of their victory and complications old and new in their respective lives, a dangerous new threat to Equestria lurks, awaiting for the right moment to strike.

This is again being co-written by Anon and myself, so any credit given should be to the both of us.

I am definitely looking forward to this.

Considering how the previous part of this tale ended, I am interested in where this part goes.
So far I'm intrigued.

Glen Gorewood

not much to judge on yet, but with several new lines of inquiry open i see lots of potential for where this is headed, wonder if we're gonna see a new creature of nightmare any time soon.

Are you editing the next chapter?

8364518
When are you hoping to release it?

good to see the changeling situation making a noticeable turn, though the thing with night's parents could be an entertaining chapter, though its likely to be somewhat awkward after what happened last time.

ah co-workers, you can always rely on them to put you in awkward situations for the hell of it... thats probably why i hate most of the people i work with.

8395757

And they claim it is for your own good!

8395813
and then they can't seem to understand why you aren't willing to share your problems with them.

8395814

Well after this, I don't think the other Captains will be too willing to share details.

8395867
Nice to see that Blade's family is at least going to try to understand what is going on.

You have a good story here. Shame it doesn't have more views. I've already upvoted it so I will now track it.

8413406

Thank you and I know; it is because I don't have a picture...

8413477
At some least some healing process has started between Blade and his family.

8433481
It's been awhile since the last chapter. Is everything going okay?

8465758
Everything is fine, just in midst of working on the next chapter. Also, Anon is also out of town so until he gets back, there will be no update.

The mare didn’t even bother to acknowledge her, placing the photo away, keeping the steady look of disapproval on her face. “Madam,” the useage of the word caused Gentle’s coat to bristle. “Do you know what 600-20, paragraph 4-14 signifies.”

“It states that any relationship between Guards is prohibited to prevent personal issues creating problems in the line of duty,” Gentle said without a moment of hesitation.

Oh ho, if Cadence heard this, it would not be pretty... but it would be glorious :pinkiecrazy:

Well that announcement by the king should go as well as a lit match in a open barrel of gunpowder in a explosives warehouse. Anyway thanks for the update!

“That they are,” Wind Breaker agreed. “For now, at least… but I can’t help but think the other horseshoe is just waiting to drop right when we least expect it.”

Of course he is waiting, it wouldn't as fun if he didn't :pinkiecrazy:

Night tilted his head and said something that made Wind Breaker’s blood run cold. “Where are the Guards? ”

All acording to the plan :moustache:

Just something I want to ask, what are the odds of the descendents of Thorax and Pharnyx making an appearance or cameo at some point in this story?

8556704
Probably slim to none - due to the changes from canon, Thorax never would have had the chance to see or experience true friendship, which was key to his ultimately sharing love and undergoing the metamorphosis he did.

8557218
Pharynx is Thorax's older brother, first mentioned in season 7's "Triple Threat" and appearing onscreen in "To Change a Changeling", where he was the last changeling in the hive to be unhappy with their new lifestyle and to maintain his old natural form, leading to friction with his brother and the rest of his hive. While ultimately reforming and becoming the last (excluding Chrysalis) Changeling to undergo the metamorphosis like the rest of his kind, he's still kind of a jerk, but is loyal to Thorax and acts to protect the hive from external threats (like the maulwurf that was causing trouble for them). In his new form, he's basically the Luna (but grouchier) to Thorax's Celestia.

Until next time...

So as someone who has just been working my way through the chapters of this fic and its predisessor, I would love nothing more than to tell you that this has been an excellent read Mr Humor. You have done a remarkable job with world building and I am happy to have found this piece of fiction. Your story deserves more readers to say the least.

One question with this chapter that i have been wondering about from the end of the previous story until now. Is Harmony attempting to for lack of a better term "Course-correct" for all of the things Balance did to force its end result? Things seem to be going our heros ways, particularly with Nights family only now making this realization and if so is Harmony going to fess up to its elements and the other Powers That Be?

Anyway I look forwards to seeing wher you go with the rest of this story and wish you the best of luck with all of your future projects.

Thank you very much. It is always lovely to hear how much people enjoy my/our work (by the way, Evilhumour is my full name, not my first and last online name). We really strived to make this, and the rest of the multiverse, unique and fleshed out as possible and the only way I could get more readers if I had cover art.

If I said anything, that would be spoilers.

Thank you very much.

Do you think if you ever make it that far, you'll somehow adapt the events of the season 7 finale?

And now after reading the complete story through for the second time, the wait that occurs when one finds a most excellent piece of work and it is not complete. As I said earlier I am very much invested and look forwards to seeing where you go with this story. I am most intrigued to see what has become of the griffin homeland considering that is where the story seems to be heading. I must say that I feel for Wind Breaker as he gets bombshell after bombshell dropped on him. Discord (even though they don`t know hes out yet), A bully who is attracted to him and he was never a hatchery griffin in the first place? the gang might want to keep an eye on him because I think that this is going to make the bottle look rather appealing again from all of the craziness.

best of luck with your writings.

Let me just say you probably do not how much this means to me to see this; it is always wonderful when I see a review like this appear and I am overjoyed to hear how interested you are. We should be covering some of the stuff you mentioned shortly and I do hope you enjoy the rest of the work in this multiverse.

It seems the plot is moving right along. Thanks for the update!

New chapter that I enjoyed as usual, thank you very much, and a new question for you.

I am attempting to put together the group dynamics and relations in my head and am curious about Vix-Lei and Wind Breaker since they both seem to be rather friendly with each other. Is this in part because of Vix's many younger brothers or a hint at a future relationship? I am curious either way. I also wanted to mention that I really like seeing Wind and Night bro it up like they do now considering they were at eachothers throats for the longest time in the first story.

On a seperate note I am very look forwards to seeing where you go with the Griffish isles. Most fictions I have read have made the Griffin lands an equivalent to medieval/early modern germany. With the griffish isles I immediately think British isles, which will be pretty neat because of several factors which could be entertaining. First and foremost is Windbreakers choice in weaponry. England and Wales were two of the few lands in older times that honored archers and the skill of archery and marksmanship and Wind Breaker uses a crossbow. While not exactly a longbow it is a skill that could be respected.

I will stop my rambling and simply say thank you once more and I look forwards to more.

On behalf of Evilhumour and myself, thank you very much, it's always good to see someone enjoying our writing.

As far as I know, the only romance involving two members of the six is Page and Night Blade; aside from them, there’s also Xvital and her relationship with non-Bearer Tizoc. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if Vix-Lei is treating Wind like one of her brothers.

I also wanted to mention that I really like seeing Wind and Night bro it up like they do now considering they were at eachothers throats for the longest time in the first story.

I'm quite glad to see it too. Their experiences have really changed them and brought them together.

Would you believe that was sheer coincidence? Happy coincidence, but still not something Evilhumour had thought of at the time we first started writing this.

The Griffish Isles are actually something mentioned in official material, though they haven’t been covered much in the show itself. Their primary appearance has been on the map in the book “My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria”, and an expanded version of the same map was included as a promotional still for the recent movie. The map shows that the Griffish Isles are indeed about where Great Britain would be, and it’s shown that Trottingham, where the colt Pipsqueak lived before moving to Ponyville in season 2 of the show, is on their northern shore.

(Of course, we’ve included some stuff in this Equestria that’s not a part of that map… but that detail is one I liked and that we decided to keep.)

Until next time…

“And if I am not mistaken, those under the Captains’ purview might fall under the “same restrictions. So if you do not want to lose your position due to being involved with an employee of one of the hospitals-”

Seriously, if Cadance heard about this rule, the destruction would be glorious :pinkiecrazy:

Her eyes went wide at what was going on and despite the matter, she smiled at what was happening in front of the IA building on Mount Legion. She knew that tomorrow would be a very interesting day.

Yes it will :trollestia:

Yes. Yes, it would.

Without a doubt

Yes! I found the sequel!! Off to a good start. Letting them sort out some personal drama before they have to face the next big bad. I'm also curious about what happened at Night's Talentmizvah.

I love this! I like seeing the captains interacting in a relaxed atmosphere. It really highlights there friendship. I especially like seeing Gentle Step show more emotion. Also isn't Sound Mind the mare the Night got directions from before?

8661814

Yes she is~

You've got really good eyesight.
