7888706 Yeah, not my proudest achievement I'll admit. Like I said in my notes, this was just for giggles. Some people enjoy it though so I figured it was at least worth sharing until Commissions start coming in, and I get the chance to write better stories.

I only had the time for this much so far, but within the next few weeks I should get the rest over, including a chapter I've already got completed but yet to post on FanFiction. Issues with copying the stuff from my GDocs, big headache, but I expect all further updates to the story will be posted here rather than over there.

I understand the annoyancehaving to transfer story from fanfiction.net or a document and into another site, the paragraphs tends to mess up or there's a weird html glitch.
A Desert Eagle for hunting wildlife? That would be a little overkill don't you think? And why would he have a silencer? Animals are scared of the sound of a gunfire. Do Desert Eagles even have silencers? (You would probably need a special permit to get one because I doubt it's legal for people to get them normally) Aside from that, this is a pretty good first chapter.
7890669 He's not hunting, he's hiking. The silencer was just part of the set when he bought it, and if they can make them for automatic rifles then I don't doubt they can make them for a Deagle. But thank you for your input, more will be coming soon.

7928219 Actually no, I hadn't realized the acronym until several chapters in, roughly the same time I invited a few friends to come write this with me. Neither of them know the show very well, and never really had an interest, but they're my closest friends. I figured having them as a part of this would capture that element of friendship we've come to know, and love from the show.

8096479 Sorry to hear that, I'm one of those fans that actually really enjoyed it. Sometimes I'll go on YouTube to listen to an audiobook series of the AU called "Muffins" to relax. It really expands on that universe, and not every story in it is super scary. If you feel like trying to conquer your fears then it would be a good place to try it.
Great story so far, too bad you didn't have Harley save Nightmare a different way, maybe turning her into a little living filly like from another story here on Fimfiction, one that has gone and been made into a book and sold back in 2012, it would have been cool to see Nyx show up in this story and made into Harley's adopted little daughter.

I don't know what kind of person who can, legally or not, have a Desert Eagle handgun and not know that it uses magazines and not clips. Hell, a forty, forty-four or forty five caliber or nine millimeter handgun is perfectly reasonable for most threats you might find in the woods, excluding bears who, if the sound doesn't run them off, will likely shrug off a few shots from that DE and maul you. Headshots, heartshots, lungshots, a bear will likely shrug them off out of pure spite.
On another note; if you own a handgun that big, you're probably not the misanthrope type who hates human nature. People kill each other, history agrees on that regardless of whose. A gun that big, you'd likely find it very amazing how much killing power it has instead of guilt tripping over it.
8180229 I don't actually have one so I could be wrong, but aren't clips for rifles? The Deagle is just the only handgun I could name at the time, and it had to be a handgun because he couldn't exactly hide a rifle from these ponies.
Plus I think you're giving bears a little too much credit. Granted I've seen them shrug off blasts from shotguns, but the lethality of buckshot is very different from your standard round. Buckshot just disperses damage in a wide area with little BB's. Bullets though are a lot more focused, and I should think a Deagle could match the power of some shotguns. Think of it as the difference between whacking a piece of wood with a hammer, and whacking a nail into it. Same amount of power in a more tightly focused point.
As for guilt tripping... I hate guns, I really do, and I hate a lot of the things humanity has done. I'm a genuine cynic whose knee jerk reaction is to assume the worst in folks. But I realize there are times when you need to be prepared for action, and there are few weapons better than a firearm of any sort.

8182267 Considering this is a race that stores lightning in glass jars, and can move the very celestial faces of the sun and moon I don't think there's much call for anything nuclear. I mean we've seen what Rainbow Dash alone can do with a dive-bomb in Lesson Zero. Besides, Harley wouldn't want to try bringing anything nuclear into this or else he might end up triggering Fallout Equestria. While I love that AU to absolute death I don't think he would want to live with that kind of guilt on his conscious.
I don’t understand why you writers feel the need to tell the pony’s you’re from another world or do the retarded thing and tell them their world is a cartoon it makes zero sense also none of you ever make their reactions real its always some bullshit levels of them not caring, Most reasons why writers do that is simply because “they can”. Hell your character has one reason and that’s just to maybe go home.

Come on bud, think about it. If you were put in this situation, would you keep it from them? If you didn't tell them you were from a different world then they would think you were some bipedal mutant, something out of Tartarus, or they would just figure that part out themselves. And telling them that to you their world is a cartoon? That's just one more thing they would figure out on their own given you might let some things slip until they pressure you into telling them, probably destroying a lot of trust you worked to build.
And telling them you have some knowledge of future events gives you purpose in their land. Honestly which sounds better?

Honestly the first choice because so long as I don't force myself into their problems like most writers do everything will stay the same cause I'v seen the show, Their world/god favors the ponies not the random human who comes along and thinks they have some purpose for being in there world (They don't) when all they do is mess things up.

If they asked where I am from I would just say I'm not from equestira cause that's one kingdom on their continent and I'd say I'm from another continent, If they asked why they've never seen one of my kind I'd say ponies don't take to kindly to anything that's not a pony which is very true or we're very few in numbers.
Why would I tell them anything just so I can have a purpose that makes me feel important in their world, Really self satisfying and deplorable considering most writers do that makes me... upset, I'm a human I'll do what humans do best and just live only maybe getting involved when the MC's are acting like idiots and can't see the obvious solution. Even better since I am in a new world I can show them our worlds culture such as music, movies or art, Because of my former and current job I know how to lie unlike the vast majority of the people in these stories so I can easily say I made these things if I felt like it (Maybe to mess with them). I'v asked a hundred people this question sixty people responded with saying they'd react with physical violence towards the person that told them, twenty people would either react with shock then extreme depression or Anger a lot of it. last twenty had no opinion or didn't care.
Forcing the character to be apart of the mane 6 and getting involved with their problems or to be a hidden element.

I think you misunderstand the concept of Ad Infinitum my friend. In a layman's terms, every reality exists somewhere. There are some where you, and I are fictional characters. In fact in the vast expanse of infinite possibilities there's actually an infinite number of worlds where that is the case. Does that mean someone somewhere is controlling what we do here and now to the smallest detail? No, no it does not. It just means someone had an idea, and it is reality someplace else. In this context the show to us is merely a recording to these ponies. It's not guaranteed to happen according to the writers of the show, and the main character here is aware of that. But he knows that if th events follow in according to the show it's more likely to be better for everyone. He's just lucky he's in a position to do so, and that the universe here isn't all that different from Canon so for the meantime it's easy for him.
That won't last though. Ever heard of the Butterfly Effect? Of course you have, we've all seen the Season 6 Finale. Him just being in that world may have upset the Course of things, he's not sure either way. So he's doing his part to keep damage to a minimum.

It’ll come in time. I just have reality to shape up. Reduced to part time work, and begging for Patrons on my Patreon to get it done though. If I can get 50 people donating $10 a month I’ll be able to make time for weekly updates to my stories. That way I can get a place to live, look into a computer so I’m not relying on my phone, and possibly make due with a part time job vs a full time one where I’m scrambling for overtime. Makes more time for writing that way.

I can deal with misanthropy as long as you don't go around and say "humans are evil." Lacking innocence doesn't make something evil. If even half of humanity was entirely evil, society itself would break down.
Of course, this all depends on how you perceive right and wrong.

If I were placed in Equestria I would lie like hell because it would be so easy. They don't have any frame of reference on how my life was in the real world, so how would they be able to see though it?
But on a literary standpoint, what's more important? Realism or plot? If you blab to the characters right away you close off so many storytelling possibilities, and honestly could you actually say that if you were legitimately put into this situation, you would tell Twilight that she is a character in a TV show?
Wouldn't you worry that she wouldn't believe you, then promptly push you out of her life? Dooming you to the certainty of never returning home with the added wound of bookhorse thinking you're nuts?
EDIT: Also, how the hell is Nightmare Moon the most lethal villain in the show? Have you seen the season one premier? She's essentially discount Maleficent watered down so that she doesn't actually hurt anyone. Also, the whole "the world will freeze to death because eternal night" argument was completely discarded with the season 5 finale. Apparently the day/night cycle exist exclusively for pony convenience like everything else in nature, with no horrible consequences to the sun not rising.

Well when I started this story it was during the hiatus of Season 5 around the time we saw Slice of Life, so by that logic he had never known Equestria wouldn't plunge into an ice age. And lying to them would have just been a bad idea, you always get caught one way or another. Better bookhorse doubts until he proves it and in the long run he earns trust rather than run the risk of losing it.
