Hearts and hooves day was another equestrian holiday many enjoyed. It was a day that brought happiness to many couples and it brought sadness to the lonely.
As Ponyville is getting ready for the hearts and hooves day dance Spike decides to finally tell Rarity how he feels but sadly Rarity doesn't feel the same way and has actually been keeping something hidden from Spike . Join Spike as he learns the truth, gets angry, also makes a new friend and learns what his destiny has been all along.

Let me say first hand, I'm quite disappointed in that at first glance, this seems like a standard "ship my OC with a main canon character" story. I also have to say that as a Sparity fan, and in general a Spike shipper, it seems that we have done with the cliché scenario where Spike finds out Rarity is with somepony else (pick your stallion, you used Fancy Pants) and everypony else knew about it for the longest time, and cue the depression/angry rant or both for Spike since he's a dragon.
To be honest I'm quite pissed at what you have shown so far. And if you want to ridicule or flame me, go ahead, I probably deserve it.
With that said, I know that there is more to this story than what you showed up with, so I'm just gonna continue to leave it in your capable hooves. I'm not gonna downvote this story or anything like that; that would be quite childish and pointless. But I hope you got something incredible up in your sleeves, especially after this fiasco scenario that you have presented.
7152590 Thanks for your comment and I know my story is cliche and this story isn't going to be a ship story between my oc and Spike by the end of the story Spike and my oc will only be friends, there will be moments were it will lo like I am trying to pair them together but in the end they will only be friends, also I don't hate the Sparity ship and I chose Fancy Pants because I think that's one of the guys that Rarity is paired with the most.

I get the feeling that Spike's really gonna take up on Ember's offer to join her in the Dragon Lands and teach dragons to be better toward one another, which is noble. After all, after that rejection and finding out that the others were already in on it, maybe it's just better for Spike to throw all the mares of the Mane 6 two large middle claws up at all of them (I could even see Fluttershy fainting at that, and Rarity having the balls to have Fancy Pants there when Spike's really saying sayonara to Ponyville and possibly Equestria in whole.) But it's still avoiding the white elephant in the room. And kudos to Lightning Blossom for at least trying to help him see that there is a silver lining, no matter how hidden it is.
I also saw Pinkie in there, and she knew exactly why Spike was so crestfallen, and it's not from eavesdropping on him and Lightning. There has to be a point when the girls have to stand up and take responsibility for what they did to a supposed (and now former) good friend.
Just had a bit fo a black thought: I wouldn't be surprised if Rarity's expecting Fancy Pants' foal. It's been two years at least, there's plenty of time to date and get snuggly enough to start a family. And obviously this also would be something that Spike wouldn't have known either.

Part of me still calls 'bullshit' with the apology that Rarity gave to Spike. But I admit that it's mostly because I'm a cynical and jaded bastard. I've been burned a few times by the love bug, so forgive me if I'm like a dog that have been whipped by his master too much.
I probably will be hated for this, but I would expect Spike to not return once he's on his journey. As far as romance is concerned, he never had a chance in Equestria, even with the crush. They should have crushed his crush at the onset. Rarity knew she would never enter a romantic relationship with a dragon, why else would she hook up with a stallion? Not to mention the taboo and onslaught if she did engage with that (reputation and her ambitions would be in shreds for starters). If he succeeds in making dragons and ponies allies and friends, more power to him, since that would be his legacy. But Spike should never return to Equestria. Too much heartache.
