Hey, no reason you can't still write your story. Even if they're similar in broad strokes, I very much doubt they'd be the same in execution.
EDIT: Also, be aware that this is the dark version of a much lighter version of two dark(-ish) fanfictions. So there will be some thematic similarities there too.
