You should rename this collection to "What if everyone wasn't artificially stupid to keep the plot moving." It does kinda boil down to that.

In the original story his suicide attempt only occurred after three years of living in squalor. In this story he went directly back to Celestia.

Ah, ok then. The whole "in the end" thing makes it sound like that happens just before/instead of the regular ending. Maybe you could make that a bit clearer in the text?
