Morning, Twilight. Sorry for leaving you hanging last night. I got so tired after shopping that I just went to bed.
No need to apologize, Toby. A good night's sleep is far more important than late night chatting. Also, good morning yourself. I hope your shopping was at least fruitful?
Fruitful it was! I found a really good deal for a portable Blu-Ray player on Amazon, and because I'm a Prime member, it'll get delivered to me by Saturday night. Oh, and Blu-Rays are similar to DVDs, but they're of higher quality, and they can also play DVDs too so you'll be just fine.
Oh, you bought it already? How does that even work, buying things online, that is? I'm genuinely curious.
You can buy things off of websites online. Amazon is one of the biggest ones, and you can buy virtually anything through it. I just put in my address, pay them through a debit or credit card (think of it like a device that transfers credit or money from a bank to whoever you're paying), and there you have it!
I see. Either way, it sounds like you took care of it. How much was it?
You don't need to worry about that, Twilight. It wasn't that much, honestly.
I still feel like I should owe you something. By the time you get home from school and the library, I'll pay you back in some bits. I can't possibly know the value of your currency on your world (especially compared to ours), but I figured that ten bits might be a fair pitch-in for one of these "Blu-Ray players."
Seriously Twilight, it's completely fine. My birthday's coming up soon anyway, and I'll probably be given enough cash between both my grandparents to essentially get reimbursed.
It's your money, Toby, you should spend it how you
Sorry, forgot I can't just cross things out anymore. Either way, if that's what you really want to spend your money on, I shouldn't make you feel guilty for it. I still greatly appreciate that you would spend your own money like that. Anyways, change of subject. You still have both both sets of grandparents?
Yep! Actually, kinda. My grandma on my mother's side died before I was born, but all the grandparents who've been alive since I was born are still very much alive.
That's very nice to hear! Any of them avid readers or even writers?
My dad's-side grandpa used to let me sit on his lap and read my favorite children's books to me. He was is such an amazing storyteller, and I actually give him a lot of credit for getting me into writing and storytelling.
Aww, how sweet! So tell me, what kind of books did tiny Toby Cray like to read as a baby?
To be fair, my memory pre-4 years old is extremely hazy, but as a child, I used to dig Thomas the Tank Engine back then. Talking trains on this lush railway-based island community, you know how it goes. But just the way my grandpa read the books, he really knew how to make you feel the story, you know what I mean?
I certainly do, and I'm sure your grandfather's a very wonderful person. I only wish I could say something to him.
I would too, but he actually had a heart attack that nearly killed him a few years ago, and if he saw words writing themselves into a book like they are now, he'd probably have himself one last heart attack, if you catch my drift.
Oh, gosh! That's certainly morbid!
You shouldn't be too upset. He's in his eighties now, which is pretty ahead of the curve for people our age. Anyways, I'm actually about to head out the door for class now. Sorry to leave on such a somber note, but if you have any ideas of story types or genres that you're interested in, I can think about a couple of good movies to send your way before the Blu-Ray player ships. Sound good?
Sounds good! I'll talk to Spike when he wakes up, and maybe we can agree on something!
Cool. We can probably talk a little bit before class starts too. See you then.
Take care, Toby!
I'm beginning to wonder what kind of movies would Toby send over. Anyone got any ideas? Because I can only think of a couple based on what I've read from previous chapters (Since I just read everything in one whole sitting. Very impressive, good sir)

I think it really depends on what genres she likes and what she's interested in. Maybe a bunch of quality documentaries? If she's gonna watch movies with some of her friends, then there's even more stuff to watch.
Twilight: Documentaries, Indiana Jones. Avatar? Honestly, I think she'd be willing to give almost anything a try just to see what they're like.
Spike: Superhero movies
Pinkie Pie: I dunno, she's hard to get a read on. Probably comedy of all different flavors.
Fluttershy: Disney classics like Snow White, The Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, etc.. Maybe some movies by Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki.
Rarity: The Princess Bride comes immediately to mind. Maybe some other romance movies as well? Oh man, showing her Titanic without her knowing what happens would be awful. Oh, gotta get some film noir and mysteries in there as well, like The Maltese Falcon and Murder on the Orient Express.
Applejack: Maybe stereotyping a bit, but perhaps some classic westerns? Or some other movies with down-to-earth, relatable, hard-working characters.
Rainbow Dash: Top Gun, Indiana Jones, Star Wars all come immediately to mind. Probably other action-adventure movies as well.
A lot of horror, gorey, and really violent movies would probably be right out. Making them watch something like any of the Saw movies or The Ring would probably traumatize some of them. Also, gotta show Princess Luna Inception. Seriously though, could easily do an entire series of ponies watching and reacting to different movies. I know I'd read the heck out of that if it was well-written.
"Twilight, why did you send me a small fortune in solid gold coins?"
Other then that, great job!

Send them The Greatest Showman. They'll love that one. Ooh, and Muppets, the whole cinematic series!
9406315
maybe send tia the harry potter movies along with both fantastic beasts movies.....maybe Narnia as well

I like your movie choices. I might add "The Homecoming" the first Waltons tv movie. For Applejack, she'd appreciate the strong family bonds, and it's set on a farm. "Bambi" and maybe "Brother Bear" for Fluttershy. "Nightmare on Elm Street" and Tim Burton's "Batman" for Luna. "The Sword in the Stone" for Twilight and Celestia to watch together. "The Black Sheep Squadron" for Rainbow and maybe "Zorro" and "Enter the Dragon". "Mary Poppins" For Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. "The Apple Dumpling Gang" for Pinkie and probably Applejack, too. Any Abbott and Costello movie for Pinkie. "Romeo and Juliet" for Rarity and "You've Got Mail." "Overboard" for her, also. Twilight, should also see "Dr. Strange" and The Terminator movies.

Also some good suggestions. I think Twilight, Celestia, and Luna may be particularly interested in some of the adaptations of some of Earth's most famous plays. Never even considered the movies about magic. Wonder if Twilight would be able to watch any of them without saying "Magic doesn't work like that!" With the group being diverse as it is their interests likely cover a lot of different genres. Then there's other stuff like western cartoons and anime to further complicate things.

maybe send her mlp g1 for a laugh.....
maybe send old school cartoons like g1 transformers original power rangers love to see scoots or even shining armors reaction to tommy oliver going from evil to good to the white ranger cause hes such a fanboy at heart just not a solider ....even send old school anime like sailormoon…..and ah my goddess for princess cadence
speaking of shining armor I wonder how he and I would get along...family means a lot to me I like the occasional comic and tv show and I had a grandpa that served in a post on a naval ship called the Bonaventure....don't know if it was the Canadian ship or not it was a air craft carrier that pilots were scared to land on

Oh geez, those older harem anime (Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo, Shuffle!, etc.) would drive Cadance up a wall. I imagine it wouldn't take long for her to start screaming "Pick him/her! They're the one that's right for you!" and then going crazy when it takes forever for the protagonist to actually pick someone.
9407046
oh man there needs to be a ah my goddess fic on this site.....maybe eg fluttershy makes the same wish as the animes protag …..except its Urd then has the temple with the main characters transported next to her house meanwhile mara and hild try to cause trouble fror the human 7 and equestria ….well mostly mara …...hild tries to get into fluttershys and sunset shimmers proverbial pants
I'd imagine Apollo 13 would be a great movie to send Twilight

It’s pretty adorable, their interaction.
Ah, young love.

I just rewatched that movie with my wife and her grandma last week.
Still love the movie!
I also still find it weird to see Hugh Jackman so happy and smiling.

I spy a Potterhead. Hail, friend!
Also, while it might be a bit violent, how about The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

not really into harry potter kinda reading a mlp harry potter fanfic crossover on this site
9410227
Oh, okay.
So, what is it? Magic School Days?
9410240
I think its if wishes were horses
Nice work, keep it up.
Oooh so many story types they could be watching!
Please I beg of you!
Okay, I just have to point this out but you kind of causal forgot the time derogation between their dimensions. Even with the magical deus ex machina, dilation of time should still laps with each character written in the journal between their worlds haha, unless not only is the all power journal capable of transcending dimensional rifts but also the boundary of time. Causality is not pleased with this sort of shenanigans, but what do I know lol. Can't say I actually understand how the properties of another dimension construct would effect the laws of general relativity and special relativity which follows the conservation of information and the abhorrence of sending data faster than the limitations that is the speed of light.
10334697 Sir, are you going to order the Crunchwrap Supreme or not?
