5375764 I prefer to give authors free hands with their storyline. Helps the writing feel natural. That said though, I can give you some advice. Stay away from OP villains. Seriously those need either some ridiculous Deus Ex Machina or seriously raping character growth. I have seen both happen and at least to me it ruins a story completely.
Then again I'm more of a slice-of-life reader.

then I got some good news for you, in regards to the OP villains: Link is not doing a 3 heart run. There will be growth, and his skill will improve. He will just have to take different enemies in different ways. I've got a few villains in mind. No spoilers though. I got the next chapter typed up, just waiting for monday. Then I'm almost done writing the one after, and that one still needs to be revised, edited, and typed.
This is one of those manipulates the word count to always be the same per chapter things isn't it? That just makes following it more painful, because the chapters are so short and only once a week

5731206 Well, while you are correct, that it is called 'the triforce', not 'a triforce', it's not something he (navi) brings up in conversation casually. In fact, the only time it'll even be mentioned, is when he discovers it on his hand. And even then, when navi refers to it as 'the triforce', the word 'the' kind of rolls over their head as Triforce is the more important word. So saying 'a triforce' is just as well as 'the triforce'. I could be wrong. And if so, then I'll change it.
EDIT: Yeah, I was wrong. 'a' is a general. 'The' is a specific. I'm wrong, and ... Fixed ~_~

I'm so happy you asked! The mask of truth let Link speak to truth stones in ocarina of time. It was derived from sheikahs, who also had this ability to some extent. Most sheikah were servants to royalty, or at least higher-ups. Derpy falls into this category, being employed by the city of Ponyville, and beyond: Working for royalty. She's here to help Twilight, but in a less up front manner than Link.

Okay, so a bit more of an answer here: For some reason, the portal to Equestria made by Great Deku Tree left behind traceable magic when it closed. I bet you can tell what happened in the land of Hyrule... And if not, here's what happened: When Ganondorf gets to the tree, it leaks that the kid "fated to be the savior" isn't there. He opens the portal with the triforce of power (aquisition is explained), and finds himself in Equestria. Guess where...
