You know, if you're going out of your way to create your own fanon for this story (even so much so that you named it), I think it would make sense that this should be labeled as an Alternate Universe, especially since the characters barely act the way they should.
Reading this is like a giant slap in the face, and all the characters behave in the most extreme way possible, it feels like a melodramatic anime that's trying way to hard, and the characters are deep seeded OOC. Are these changelings? Because then this would all make sense.
Anyway, I think this should be labeled properly, maybe even a tragedy or sad tag, but definitely a AU tag.
885913 Yeah, and the problems from there are running rampant in here too. Even the first one could've been labeled as a AU, since 60% was made up from the author, 30% was fanon, and the ten percent was getting the characters names right. This is even called the Trixie verse or something, as in, it takes place outside of the canon. Even if it wasn't, the characterization on his stories are way off anyway. If you combine Uwe Bolle (making a story that has almost nothing to do with the original source) and Mark Protosevich (I'm so deep ask me to explain it), you get Applejinx in a nutshell. It's over the top melodrama that's trying to sound smart.
If this was marked as a AU, then it would all make sense.
885640 I'm guessing that Twi will either end up with rainbow dash or she's gonna get really pissed and look for Trixie everywhere, find out what Luna did to her, and estrange herself from Lulu and Celly even more than she already has? Personally, I prefer the latter, but that's just me.
Don't listen to NaturalGlitch, the characters are perfect. I hope you can get Dash back with Applejack and Rarity back with Big Mac, and Trixie back with Twilight and the Princesses being happy with everyone again. Please of please Applejinx, make this a perfectly happy ending.
Hm. Is RD preggers? It seems pretty ambiguous right now. Poor RD either way, but if she is.... Genetics tell us she can't really be pregnant, the DNA is all wrong. Trouble is, MAGIC.
Sister's pet hmmm? Just what ARE Celestia's feelings toward her student, hm?
They're credible, IMHO. Like they've dropped the self-censorship that normally keeps the show Y-rated.
Well, for the most part.
> "Oh, no! Or um... maybe if you really really needed to, because I want to help you feel better. But I thought you might want to just... talk."
There's something about that particular turn of characterization that tells me that I'm in a Trixieverse story. It's a kind of eager forthrightness with emotions that rings a little false to me. I have to chalk it up to pony culture being different than human culture, but that is an element of the setting that hasn't really been established by canon in my opinion.
PS: I think I know enough biology to have figured out what's up with Dash. Applejinx, you do such horrible things to your characters if I'm right.
Oh My Sweet , I've been waiting eagerly for an update! And everything in this was amazing! So many new directions you can take the story~ I'm assuming you will go back to and . I desperately await the next installment.
886739 I assume it's like that one lady that forced her body to become 'pregnant'. She believed with all of her being that she was pregnant and 'tricked' her body into believing it too just to get the guy she was obsessed with. Some big psychologist guy. Idr. A false pregnancy, thought. Rainbow believes that she's pregnant because of wing stimulation, even if the book says she can't be, and because she's committed her brain to it, her body is following right along with her.
886541 Recovered from Bronycon, yep. Recovered from NaturalGlitch, that's gonna take a lil' effort. (no more than Dash is making, and not as heroically either.) I do wonder why some people are even reading a futa clopfic, and to what extent they'd cheerfully accept violence and gore and emotional coldness in the opposite extreme. Some of the ponies in this town are crazy!
886739 Eustatian's picked out one of the lines I feel is most of a stretch- being a far better critic, not simply more favorably disposed- the idea of Twi being willing to be clopped again even as a stray thought is weird. All I can say is, she's going to great lengths to comfort Dash, she's actually up in Dash's house at the time, ALL the ponies (even the townsponies) have slightly more equine attitudes to sex much as they eat daisies more often than humans do, and lastly Twilight is out of her depth and actively trying to be open to solutions beyond what she'll typically think of. It's moot as Dash isn't looking to be indulged this time- Dash is really growing up and the mechanics of it are shown in a lot more detail than say in Mare-Do-Well.
NaturalGlitch doesn't get to tell me how to write (I'd like to see him try to build tension and manage this many story arcs, frankly- I feel disrespected, much as I would by certain youtube commenters). There's a few readers here and there that I'm paying close attention to- if Chatoyance doesn't feel the warmth, hope and possibility of a happy ending I'm doing something wrong, and if Tactical Rainboom doesn't believe my Rainbow Dash I need to go deeper- straying off to hook the readers who think Dash is a jerk tends to risk losing Tactical, who's a more important reader for Dash.
Some readers' wishes are just more capable of guiding me in a direction that will have a herd of ponies on the edge of their seat. Others- aren't.
In thinking about Dash's symptoms of nausea, I am desperately hoping that this Equestria has no deadly cross-species venereal diseases in it. As in how AIDS jumped from African primates into humans from blood contact during bushmeat slaughter. A dying Dash would... it would honestly not work for me one jot.
So I am voting hysterical pregnancy too, because the result of the features of a diamond dog troll and a pony would be one sorry little monster, in my mind the ponyverse equivalent of Gollum, ugly, deformed, and torn between two opposing natures at every juncture.
However, and this is just the fact that I am very, very weird and strange, and I have studied biology too much, AND we are dealing with the concept of pegasai not being able to conceive without wing stimulation, AND the pregnancy of an equine is eleven months and does not begin to show at all in such animals until very late in the game -
What if Rainbow Dash is carrying a foal... but the foal is Applejacks? That is my call.
Applejack did the most wing-biting. The emotions between them were the strongest and most powerful. They fell asleep together with bit intact for hours.
Now follow me here: magical spunk vanishes when the bit is dropped. But Dash's egg would be real, and if it were fertilized, that event would be real, and the egg would immediately begin dividing. After a few hours, it would be implanted and drawing nutrients from her body, gaining in mass as the cells divided. The egg would become a blastocyst, fifty to a hundred cells, all dividing and growing, taking realworld matter from Dash's bloodstream.
The bit falls from Applejack's mouth as they sleep. Her magical phallus would vanish, the magical sperm, and its payload would vanish. But after that many hours (I forget the exact chapter and scene) there would be ninety-nine remaining cells that would be entirely real, entirely made of real matter, and not magical matter that can vanish. And they would not stop growing. They would have copied the original genetic material, but not be made of it. So they would remain real.
I say that if Dash is pregnant, that it could reasonably be, by extrapolation of the available scenario, Applejack and Dash's foal.
This could be the one unimagined possibility of the magic bits: if too much time passes while the illusory semen functions, real reproduction becomes possible, for the reasons given.
And if I have deduced this possibility correctly, the consequences of this fact could... well they could be very powerful within the context of the characters as presented.
Nopony is gonna waste away and die of a terrible disease! Just as with Trixie's Magic Bit, things get tied up into a happy ending that may or may not be the same configuration they started with (bear in mind Twi was with Applejack for much of 'Trixie' but ended up with Trixie so solidly I'm now gettin' fierce calls to protect that shippin'...) Chatoyance, you're a clever pony, but you're still missin' something...
I have a feeling that all the chickens are coming home to roost with Dash. E.g., these symptoms are symptoms of the original conflict that started this story.
Actually, that might be. Dash was very careful not to let Mac touch her wings when they mated, but AJ had (presumably) been playing with them that morning. Dash's horniness from that morning's play certainly hadn't faded, so it's possible her receptiveness hadn't either.
That could make things... complicated.
Have to say, this is definitely not what I expected this chapter to be, especially the conversation between Dash and Twilight. The scene with Dash looking in on AJ and Rarity felt pretty fitting, with Dash torn between a desire to make amends and anger at seeing how AJ had changed. The scene with Twilight, though, felt completely different. Not wrong or out of character really, just... different. The way she was talking and the things she was saying made it almost feel like it was an act for Twilight's sake, but you're a better author than for me to accept just *thinking* it was an act. If it was fake, I should have known it, but it didn't feel entirely genuine either. She still doesn't feel like she's completely opened up.
892849 That (Dash not really opening up) is an interesting thought- and there's more than a little truth to it
It's not even slightly an accident that Rainbow Dash has, rather than find Final Enlightenment, found a new way to sort of posture and be awesome. She's not real experienced with all this growing up stuff and everything has to be extreme and really dramatic, so her attempt at waking up and doing the right thing has still got a big streak of 'be a sort of hero'- she's really set on this plan of defending 'Rarijack' and the same Applejack 'girly attitude' that's the only way Rarity really relates to Applejack. And she is still stuck on the overdramatic idea that she is worst pony (being that she's stuck on being either best or worst, without any middle ground).
So she is actively resisting any final outcome with her getting back together with AJ, in the belief that AJ changed and doesn't need her anymore.
Good intentions and a very, very stubborn and brave pony. It remains to be seen whether anything will happen that pushes her beyond what she can endure, and changes her mind.
887918 I wish I could "read" my readers half as well as that. Unfortunately, my writing style is "write for as long as my muse inspires me", leaving little room for reader input, unless they inspire ideas through their comments. I really admire you as a writer for that.
887298 Either that, or Mac's the daddy. Remember what Dash and AJ were doing just before she "helped" him.
908323 He can't be. To a pegasus, the wing-biter/player is the daddy. The dick wielder is just holding the watering can, and with two pegasi they're gonna be the same pony almost all of the time (exception- the lesbians Dash mentioned, who brought in a male to do the deed)
I can't wait to see what Trixie, who was broken inside when we first saw her, whose sexual fetishes and canon personality were developed as a defense mechanism, thinks about her, ahem, illustrious family history.
I have to say I was amused by the idea of the bit originally being invented to fuck Luna with when I first heard it. I dunno about *seeing this coming* though. This story never had a moment that made me uncomfortable quite like the "actual risk of death" in the first one, but this is interesting.
I wonder about Luna thinking her sister would disapprove of rather extreme kinkiness. Then again, even playful cruelty isn't Twilight's style.
Fug this I should be asleep. Also, need to work on what I'm writing. I never thought about this, but these stories actually have an incredible density of clop scenes. I'm going to have a much lower clop-per-word ratio than you. Something to think about since my entire objective was to stick with the spirit and tone of the original.
911381 Get some sleep- and don't fret, do what comes naturally to you. I just happen to be aware that I find it really, really easy to develop character through what the ponies do sexually- and it started out as just Dash and Applejack and Fluttershy in a clearing, with a magic bit that I didn't know was Trixie's, and I only learned about Dash's polyamory when AJ tried to pin her down with words of love at the end of that first chapter. It wasn't even a chapter at the time, it was a short.
I keep things busy with clop because I can, because I like it and move the story along just as well with it, and because both books ARE clopfiction, just extended into characterization and narrative. If you had to throw away either the clop or the narrative and keep only one while losing the other completely, you should throw away the clop. It's always been about the personalities.
Rainbow is just breaking my heart to read. I am certainly hoping for an Appledash happy end (and woe unto you if not! ). But this is such a rollecoaster and trainwreck at the same time, I just can't stand to wait for updates D: You must keep writing! you must! YOU MUST! EDIT: oh, and I won't even begin to speculate on what's going on with Dash, past what others have said. I'm just gonna sit back and wonder what's going on, eagerly awaiting the next chapter and resolution...
O-O ... Oh dear twilight. You... you had her right on the way for the happy ending and then... You did... SOMETHING to trixie. I honestly would have never seen that coming. even if someone where to have said it before hand.
Back to the rainbow dash resolution, it was one of my guesses though not one of the most likely ones (in my opinion at the time).
And don't even ACT like rainbow got pregnant! Oh my god! that would just... destroy her! You're... you CAN'T be that mean! YOU CAN'T BE THAT EVIL!

It's time for Celestia and Luna to find out what happens when you take things from the most powerful unicorn in existence with out her permission.
“Dig deeper, Rainbow, don’t blame him for it! You know how horny you were, you thought you could get away with it, right? Like you thought you could fucking get away with anything! Start over. So, um, Applejack, I…”
No! Seriously! What critical conversation did I miss? Get away with what? They were fucking around. It was an open sexual relationship. What the screaming horseshit did Dash do!? I do not see the fundamental difference between Dash letting Mac rut her and Dash screwing... Pinkie Pie! Or Applejack screwing Twilight! In fact I'd say that AJ on Twilight was worse because she actively admitted to loving Twilight.

Hooves up, all those who saw that comin'

OH SHI- It got real.
885779
You do realize that this is a sequel and most of the character developement happened in the first story, right?
I didn't.
I'm still freaked out about RD. this shit ain't healthy, RD!!!

How can she be pregnant? Wtf.
Hysterical Pregnancy. Calling it.

Well, it was more of a play on words (Mac daddy) than literally daddy as you've explained it.
This week, on "When Jokes Fall Flat".
You and your bizzarely detailed Trixie.
I can't wait to see what Trixie, who was broken inside when we first saw her, whose sexual fetishes and canon personality were developed as a defense mechanism, thinks about her, ahem, illustrious family history.

887855 This. A thousand times this.
Personally I'm hoping for another homicidal rage, like what happened with AJ in the first story, but worse. I want to see the fire mane, glowing eyes, levitation, all of it. It's time for Celestia and Luna to find out what happens when you take things from the most powerful unicorn in existence with out her permission.
"...like the Applejack that Rainbow had loved, wasn't there anymore." AH! My heart! WHY?!
Still great.
No more stallion AJ?
Admittedly, Trixie's punishment was a different change of scenery. Go Twilight!
But what in Equestria is the alicorn princess of the moon planing?
No! Damn, having some serious second thoughts about screwing that Diamond Dog, eh Dash? And holy hell Luna! The f*ck did you do?
