The 8-Bit Flame Princess

The hardest thing is never to repent for someone else, it's letting people in.

E

She thought she was ready to love him again. But then he had betrayed her, just like he did a thousand years ago. The re-earned trust and loyalty had been destroyed, and she didn't think she could ever forgive him ...

Twilight's Kingdom gave me Dislestia feels, OK? I just had to write something short for them.
Also, The Princess Rarity is a babe, so this is a surprise gift for her <3

kyaaa~ Thank you, darlin' -- this was classic and cliche, yet beautifully bittersweet.

4377864 No problem  (Also, your new avatar is fabulous )

Dis lestia feels:raritydespair::raritydespair:

Seems like ever since the finale, people have been going "ew! Dislestia! Gross!"

Well, I like Dislestia. And I like this.

4378577 Really? I thought that because of the flowers people would be all over it. Huh.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it :yay:

pleeeaaase make a sequel

4384183 I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I actually have plans for a prequel, but maybe a sequel as well could be possible. Who knows?

Oh my god this needs a sequel. There aren't enough good Dislestia stories out there and that flowers scene and the Tirek fight were the only good things about the season finale in my opinion.

Please continue this, Dislestia is one of my favorite ships and it isn't done enough.

4388904 I'm glad so many people want me to continue this :ajsmug: I'll see what I can do :raritywink:

4389117 They're just so perfect for each other. I don't know where those Fluttercord shippers get their inspiration from.

4389144 Yeah, an immortal can only love another immortal, otherwise it just leads to pain. Fluttershy is more like Discords pet than his lover.

Plus with how prim and proper Celestia is it makes sense that her fetish is something as twisted and weird as Discord. Opposites attract and all that.

Nice one, friend. Very well written.
I loved the scene with the flowers! :pinkiehappy:
You should make a sequel!
...Um, if you want to, of course :yay:..... ~ Fancy

General

There's definitely some strong past history between Celestia and Discord even in canon. She and Luna directly defeated him once, indirectly defeated him through her proteges a second time over a thousand years later, and then semi-tamed him through Fluttershy after that. And that bit with the bouquet of flowers (white roses?) at the end of Twilight's Kingdom was suggestive.

Fluttershy is a lot like Celestia in some ways. This has already been emphasized in "Testing" -- Fluttershy played Celestia remarkably well for Rainbow Dash, and was clearly enjoying herself doing so. This may explain why Discord appears especially attracted to both of them.

Substantative

It was like she had been stripped of her identity without her magic and Cutie Mark. Her destiny had disappeared and she ceased to have a purpose. It had been a mind-numbing experience and she could still feel the terror of being powerless gripping her heart.

Total agreement here -- Tirek was draining not only the magic but also the Cutie Mark from the Ponies, which is not just a de-powerment but also a draining of a portion of one's identity. This would be terrifying and demoralizing for a being who was used to knowing his or her destiny as the Ponies do.

Typos

Celestia's hooves ...

Indent paragraph to match body style unless this is meant as a pure first-para paragraph format.

It's amazing how that statement comes true 4-7 times a week with her, ain't it? :ajsmug:

I really liked this one. It speaks of the emotional pain that can be present in an abusive relationship, and the difficulties in ending such a relationship. But it also remains vague enough that it's hard to blame just one party. Celestia manages to gather the energy in the end to end it, but the possibility remains open that she might—will—return to their game in the future. And there's a very good chance that she'll be hurt again, just as badly. It's far from a happy story, but it rings true to me.

It's a shame that we never got any more hints of Dislestia after this in the show, but that's probably for the best. You really can't examine complex issues like this in a children's show.

Great job! This was a enjoyable read. I like the angle you took.

Awwwwww, that's so cute!!
