A new pony has come to Ponyville, a blue-colored pony by the name of Ocean Blue. Though mysterious, he soon finds himself among Twilight and the others, unintentionally becoming a welcome addition to the town. But when Princess Celestia and her sister Luna arrive in response to a letter from Twilight, the mysterious stallion is promptly arrested. The next day, for the first time in over a millennium, a pony will received the death sentence.
Twilight is left stunned and confused. Celestia tells her that Ocean Blue is a villain and must be stopped, but her own experiences don’t add up to what she is told. Can Ocean Blue be trusted? Is he a villain, as Celestia claims, or is Twilight’s own heart telling her the truth?
Equestria’s newest princess faces the hardest choice she has ever made: she can accept Celestia’s word as truth and watch Ocean Blue be killed, or she can risk her crown, her safety, her friends, and the companionship of her oldest teacher… and follow him into the wild.

Glad you liked it, the first arc of the story is now over, It's about to get really interesting.
Hm, I like the setup and I'm itching to find out what Cobalt's past with Celestia is (and what has caused the princess to go all death and damnation on him), as well as where his potential relationship with Twilight would go. Plus, the adventure out in the wilds that's about to ensue promises to be fun in all sorts of ways, I imagine.
One thing about this chapter though: the whole breakout thing and how the gang went about it seemed ... needlessly flashy. I mean, Twilight can teleport herself and others - she could have been in that room with Cobalt and then out again, a few dozen miles that ---> way before anyone was the wiser. One would even have trouble proving she was involved - there really was no need to cause such a commotion and blow off a corner of the house when mere walls really aren't an obstacle for Twilight and someone she wants to bring with her.
That aside, looking towards the rest and Celestia's reactions ... though Celestia should really think twice before dismissing both Luna and Twilight - Luna already rebelled once when she thought she wasn't getting the respect she deserved, and Celestia simply bulldozing past her will get her no favors with Luna, me thinks. Plus, Twilight's kinda the reason (several times over) why Equestria is even standing now ... that's a lot of important bridges Celestia might be burning in her tunnelvision on Cobalt's death. I wonder if she'll get to reflect on that ...
4342868 Cobalt and Twilight's relationship is, as of right now, uneasy. He's angry with her due to sentencing herself and all her friends to death, as well as enacting her own exile. As for what happened with Celestia, I can't say just yet. There's a lot of underlying emotions at work here, but to say much would be revealing.

And I also forgot. Something I now feel quite annoyed about.
And again, Celestia's actions were more emotional than logical, something Twilight realizes. Luna knows why Celestia is angry with Cobalt, but doesn't quite understand the death sentence. Unfortunately, Twilight reacted emotionally and may have just made things worse.

Oh, I certainly get that things will be a bit tense between Cobalt and Twilight until they sit down and have a heart-to-heart and get to vent their respective issues (more so Cobalt, I imagine) - which should be plenty interesting to see from where I'm sitting, and I'm likewise interested in the (I assume) relationship they will manage to build past that - I like their interactions, so am looking towards the lot of it.
Regarding the spells though ... doing something just because it's more flashy isn't the best storytelling device though, outside of comedy or deliberate over-the-top plots :P Teleporting is easily Twilight's second most used spell in the show past basic telekinesis, so it might be prudent to keep that in consideration :P
And yeah, Twilight reacted emotionally, though I guess the same can be said about Celestia - I mean, she essentially dismissed both Luna and Twilight in that scene ... all else being equal, can she even do that if it's two Princesses outvoting another one? (Well obviously she can if no one calls her out on it, but aside from that). If she somehow ranks "higher" than Luna and Twilight and can essentially ignore the other two, then their (Luna's and Twilight's) titles are basically a lot of hot air and Celestia should just get on with renaming herself Queen.
All in all ... Twilight certainly reacted emotionally, but from what I have seen so far, Celestia shares as much of the blame for the escalation as Twilight does.
I have a feeling it is still not over between Twilight and Ocean. Whether they know it or not.

4519744 Don't underestimate Celestia's powers of coercion. The Empire's literally been bombarded with propaganda about Cobalt Storm and the others ever since they left. What they're hearing could be far worse than reality, and probably outright lies. Celestia's desperation to kill Cobalt comes with good reason, but more on that later.
As for the quakes... The three quakes have occurred every dawn for three days now. The epicenters were at Ponyville, the borders of Everfree, and the Crystal Empire. Their localization is being caused by something else entirely.

4540494 Unfortunately, the mistakes had to be faced. Cobalt Storm was able to accept his decisions, but there was a consequence for them, and he knew he had to pay it. He needed to make right what had been wronged, and that was the very land of Equestria itself.
Celestia is just starting to understand this herself, as she still though Cobalt the murderous stallion that tried to destroy her in the Lunar Rebellion. She never thought that he was still the same pony that loved her.
