Discord may have seen the light in friendship, but chaos is not something that remains calm and contained for long, if at all. When the mane 6 cease to see the God of Chaos as a threat, they make the mistake of ignoring his powers.
Now, our mares are far from home, and in the clutches of the Chaos itself, with only a d100 to decide their fate. To make matters worse, the stakes are revealed to be quite high when the Elements of Harmony become the true goal to reach. Now, with their lives, and all of Equestria's sanity and well-being on the line, the group can only pray that luck is on their side, and they aren't off to a good start.

3510075 The deal is that this was inspired by the three of us playing a few "chapters" in Only War, which has the whole "lower number is better" system, and I figured that since it's Discord, it would be kind of fitting to have the systems swapped.

Though I have only played DaD twice, I rather enjoyed this story! Has great potential and represents what a good collab should be. I like the slow, yet quick progression of Discord's malevolent aim, and also the mystery behind what might happen.

3513476 That we are. They could fail or succeed, and we won't know until the dice tell. We know where to take it, but the dice decide if we get there. It may end the next chpater, or they may save Equestria. They may walk away horribly disconfigured for life. Only a few may survive. Only one may survive. Only the dice shall tell.
Just a tip, if you want to make the story feel more realistic, try using low numbers other than one when they get a favorable result. Like 2 or 7. Otherwise, it feels kind of unlikely that 1 would be rolled that often.
3527536 I don't know how to tell you this besides that we are actually rolling for this. The rolls in this story are legitimate, and at the hands of the fairest of mistresses, fate herself. None of us legitimately know it they will even succeed in their quest. We only know the road we intend if their luck is good.

3531757 But of course. I always try to take suggestions from my readers, my followers as well. A good writers learns through books, a great writer learns through experience, and that includes interaction with readers.
No chance you could provide the characters' full stats, could you? It would be nice to see exactly what status numbers they are getting throughout, not just what the die says when unaltered. Also, two things: 1, making Pinkie have different rules was clever, but I just want to make sure that they're the same rules in reverse, correct? And 2, allowing rerolls somewhat defeats the purpose of the story as a whole if you are actually rolling dice.
3556939 That was the only re-roll, and purely for comedic value. It was a unanimous decision. If the sword decides to try that again, it gets removed. Also, yes, Pinkie just has reversed rolls. Lastly, I meant to add that to the author's notes. It should be there in the first chapter, and nothing has changed.
Well done, finally got to reading this last bit. I enjoy the comedy and the twist that discord reigns. Something I would like to see is Fluttershy in rage mode.... it does not have to be her of course.... It is only fitting though.
