Epilogue

The party had ended and the many of the ponies had worn themselves out. Most stayed to say one goodbye to the princesses.

"Now, promise you'll behave for Princess Celestia and Princess Luna until mom and dad pick you up?" Shining Armor asked, looking down at his sister.

"I promise," Twilight responded with a nod. "Are you really staying here?"

"Yeah. I have friends here now and I feel like this is where I belong." Shining reached out and placed a hoof around his sister's shoulder. "I may be further away, but I still love you Twiley. You can still always come to visit me. I mean you have a friend here too with Apple Bloom, don't you."

"Yeah!" the young filly shouted excitedly. "When can I come back?"

"Well I need to get settled in first. You also need to talk to mom and dad about it. Maybe in a week or two. Do you have everything?"

"Yes." Opening her saddlebag, she showed him the stuffed figure sitting in it. "Miss Smarty Pants and I are ready to go."

Moving closer, Shining Armor hugged the young filly and gave her mane one last ruffle, causing a giggle.

"Thank you for taking her with you," he said, turning to the princesses.

"It is my pleasure," Celestia said with a smile. "And it may do Luna some good to speak to a filly about some of what she has missed."

Twilight smiled and gave her brother one last hug, squeezing him tight. Letting him go, she then ran to the chariot and jumped in. Standing between the two princesses, the young filly waved a hoof excitedly.

"What about you Spike?" Shining asked as he waved at his sister. "Last chance to change your mind. Just say the word and you can go back to Canterlot as well."

"No way," the dragon responded. "I'm your assistant, remember? I go where you go. So if you're staying here, I'm staying here."

"Just thought I'd give you the chance." Shining Armor continued to wave as the chariot took off. Soon the pegasi pulling it flew up and away until the ponies could no longer be seen. The stallion stopped waving, but continued to watch until the entire chariot was nothing but a speck heading toward Canterlot. Turning, he found that the five mares, his friends, were standing there as well.

"So y're really staying, huh?" Applejack asked, moving forward.

"Yeah, I am," Shining replied. "You all are my friends now and I don't want to leave you behind already."

"Oh that's wonderful," Fluttershy said with a smile.

"Indeed," Rarity agreed. "It is nice to have a new friend around Ponyville. Although I shall miss the opportunity of having an excuse to visit Canterlot more often." She turned to look at the city built on the edge of the mountain longingly.

"It might be a little cool to have you around," Rainbow Dash said as she shifted her hooves.

"Ooh! Ooh!" Pinkie Pie shouted from Shining Armor's back. "Do you know what this means?"

"A party?" Shining guessed, looking up at her.

"Exactly! I think you're going to fit into Ponyville just fine Shiny-Hiney."

Shining Armor's horn lit up as he took a hold of the pink party pony. Gently, he lifted her off his back and set her down.

"How about one small housewarming party," he said. "In a couple days after I'm settled into the library."

"Okay!" Pinkie shouted as she hopped up and down. "Oh. I have to go. Got work to do. See you all later." With that she bounced off.

"That is one random pony," Rainbow Dash said as they watched the pink pony head to Sugarcube Corner.

"Maybe," Shining responded, "but I bet without her, Ponyville would get pretty boring, pretty fast."

Any plans to make a spin off series based on this? Cause I'm sure it would be great. :trixieshiftright:

If I counted right, hopefully their conversation in "Ponyville Princess Party" took care of the interaction request from "A New Day."

Found and fixed.

Maybe? I like the idea of doing more with it and have quite a few ideas (including Twiley's return and moving in with Shining Armor). I just don't know if I can keep focused on it. So, I partially plan to, but we'll have to wait and see for it to be certain.

3624739 It doesn't have to be right now. Whenever you can find the time to work on it is good.

Will you continue it? In a sequel?

Ahhh what a wonderful take on this story. :)

I promise to read through this in full when I get the chance, hopefully sometime in the next few days. For now, I will only give this the defender2222 stamp of approval!

Well this was an entertaining story. The biggest problem I see is that a lot of it is just too similar to the actual episodes. This is especially obvious in the Everfree Forest, where several chapters were basically taken straight from the show, but with Shining's name replacing Twilight's. And this is a problem because the most interesting parts of the story are the parts that are different from the show. We readers want to see how things are different with Shining taking Twilight's place and Twilight as a filly. So the parts that haven't changed can get rather boring.

Now then, on to the sequels!

From Crisis of Infinite Twilights:

Twiley began to rattle the events off rapidly. "Well, there was Rarity and Sweetie Belle... then we met Fluttershy who was out helping Pound." Twiley blushed a little and Scootaloo fought the urge to sing, "Twiley as a boyfriend"... mostly because as far as she knew, Pound wasn't a year and a half old yet. "They took us to the library where Pinkie and Pound's sister Pumpkin had set up a huge party for us! Shiny made me go to bed early but I couldn't get much sleep, what with every pony playing Pin the Tail on the Pony." The filly's face darkened slightly and she began to shift. "Then the bad stuff happened and we… well, you know… it was my fault we were taken."

"Taken?" Scootaloo said.

"By Nightmare Moon," Twiley said quietly, her jaw nervously working like she was chewing on a piece of gum. "She appeared out of nowhere and began to monologue-"

"Monologue?" Scootaloo asked.

"You know... I'm an evil villain, this is my evil plan, blah blah blah?" Twiley rolled her eyes. "Why do all villains monologue?"

"Because it’s fun?" Spike ventured. “Hey, did she have big mirror wings and have a Trottingham accent?”

Scootaloo clicked her tongue in annoyance. “Now that would be stupid.”

Twiley looked down. "I tried to fight her magic when she grabbed me, but... Scootaloo, this isn't fun anymore!" Twiley looked up, tears in her eyes. "We said we were going to talk about this ever! You promised!”

I have to say, what Twiley hinted at in Crisis of Infinite Twilights, would have made for a much more interesting story than essentially just copy and pasting the story from the original episodes. I was actually rather disappointed in this because of that.

5875154 I considered it, but didn't feel like making Nightmare Moon a foal-napper. Besides, if you take how he reacted in Stormy Rainbow into account, Shining Armor would have been a lot more determined, but also a lot angrier and possibly reckless. It also means he wouldn't have given her a chance to stop like he did in Shining Nightmare Showdown. I think I might have even had that in mind already, although I can't be sure.

So, I'm not the first, saying that it was too similar to the canon, as J commented it, I agree that it should not be that similar that seems a copy&paste

Sorry, ICR. I've got 90 stories in my Human In Equestria file + a bunch of sub files like "All American Girl", "Xenophilia", & "Crossovers"
