E

Twilight Sparkle receives a request from Princess Celestia, who had planned to check up on a project of hers, but now needs Twilight to take her place. Problem is, the goddess of the sun only mentioned where it is, and not what.

When Twilight arrives, she finds her problems have compounded. Her destination has been overrun with changelings and an old enemy has been waiting for her. But what this enemy has in store is the last thing she would ever expect: a pleasant conversation.

I canĀ“t see anything wrong with this

I might've caught a small typo:

Parents can still see and talk to their children, even after they suffer mortal injuries. We keep ponies together with with what they love, and in turn there is love created in excess.

with whom?

Two type-os that's it. Otherwise, well done

Glad you think so.

It could just be a case of the artist being too close to their work, I felt like there was a lot I played fast and loose with, but maybe it's less problematic than it seemed.

Nice grab on the second 'with', the 'with what' is actually deliberate though. The line just before what you quoted mentions a pegasus getting to continue flying, the implication being that flying was the passion that they would have lost. On reflection it is a little unwieldy, but Chrysalis is referring to more than just ponies as the objects of love.

It also seems in character for Chrysalis to think of ponies as 'what's.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks. Also, where were they? I plan to go back and edit this in a few days, and that would make them easier to find.

i loved it - a great, peaceful resolution! yay!

I'm glad you enjoyed!

Given the prompt of 'Happy Chrysalis' with the condition of 'no conquering', the first thing that jumped to mind was this idea which I'd had in mind for a little while now. Or at least, this is one variant of it anyways.

I found this story after clicking a link that was supposed to take me to the other changeling fic titled "Integration". I have no regrets.

Approves

P.S. New chapter plz? I know this is supposed to be a one-shot, but after the aforementioned contest is done, maybe you could build off of this?

4646507 Funny story actually, I am myself a big fan of the other Integration. I just happened to forget the name of it while I was working on this one. I facepalmed the next time the other story updated. But ahh well, it fits in both cases, so I suppose it works out.
I'm glad you enjoyed.

As to a possible continuation: Well I'll think about it, but I probably won't be continuing this one just because I'm not really sure where to take it from here. I don't have a central conflict in mind to create a good drama or adventure series, and I don't have the characters in mind for a good slice-of-life.

I do however have another idea for another changeling-focused story with integration as an eventual theme, which I intend to get started as soon as I'm finished this one thing for a different site. So keep an eye out for that.

Add-on that Twi decided not to put in.

P.S. WHY THE BUCK DID YOU NOT TELL ME THEY WERE CHANGELINGS?!?!?

P.P.S. I apologize for my former outburst.

7511799 I like it, but really I think Celestia being vague is so common it is its own running gag, and sooner or later a lot of characters would pick up on. So, I imagine it more like:

'P.S. You did it again. I really wish you'd stop, and actually TELL ME what it is I'm dealing with when you send me off like this.'

Hmm, maybe that could even be a sequel: Twilight and Chrysalis discuss how hard it is to get straight answers and accurate instructions out of Celestia, and maybe come up with strategies to try and cheat said explanations out.

That sounds hilarious.
