The moral of this story is difficult to pin down. It is a good story. Achieving goals is not about the end, but the journey in the process, Your story invokes many philosophical questions because of its ambiguity.

They have the force, now all they need is "SAXTON HALE!"

PRESENT IS THAT YOU?

That was amazing. Kudos.

WHY YES YES IT IS

Are you going to continue this story?(if it is meant to be continued, at the point it was left of it could be) This was probably the one "good" strory I came across in the competition.(not that I read all that many) Infact.... was the first I read, heh. Personally I liked it because while most others either went comedy or just playing it safe this one actully went out there and did somehing unique. It was by no means perfect but I enjoyed reading it, which is more then most others.

Also, I love your skill for smooth transitions. I am a writer myself and I have no skill at all in making good transitions, which is why found it nice to see done well in this story. (Things just flew from one scene to another, instead of being cut of and restarted like how I do it)

No continuation for this. It's just about Apple Bloom's character arc; the lingering sense of hope at the end should be enough suggestion for what happens next.

Normally I hate war in the MLP universe... but if you were to write a prequel that follows the war, it would probably be better than 95% of the other war stories out there.

/me trying to subtly get you to write it

I, too, hate war in the MLP-verse. The only reason I entertained this idea was that it isn't ponies fighting ponies. That's the worst kind of war.
