Sometimes, we all need company. Big Mac found his in the form of a doll — a filly's mere toy. She provided companionship as an inanimate object, but now, it's not enough. Big Mac attempts to find a way to transform her into something more capable of understanding, but when he does, will he be able to make the ultimate sacrifice to see it through?

After a hard day's work on the fields, Big Macintosh wants nothing more than to relax with his lunch. Rarity has a case of heat though, and is looking for Ponyville's most soft-spoken stallion to help her. Big Macintosh will of course help out, if only so he can get back to his lunch.

There's a lot more to Big Macintosh's life than just apple bucking...

He served his kingdom, as did countless other colts, and he came back without a scratch on him. Or, so Ah thought...

Most cutie mark stories are happy, exciting tales of finding one's special talent. But not Mac's story. And after Apple Bloom gets into a fight at school, Big Macintosh decides it's time he told her his own cutie mark tale.

After the train wreck incident, both Fluttershy and Big Macintosh have developed a strong interest in each other. The problem is, they are both extremely shy ponies who barely speak out about anything. Two months have gone by and neither have been able to act on their feelings despite it being on their minds day in and day out. Is it possible for a relationship, or even just friendship to bloom if the two ponies in question are nearly incapable of voicing their thoughts and feelings?

The Apple family has always had close ties, so when Apple Bloom is sad that her friends are all occupied with other things, Big Mac comes to the rescue. Who says there's no fun to be had on the farm?

One day out of the year, Macintosh Apple has to be extra careful. He can't sell apples in town, he can't run errands, he's loathe to even leave the farm. Is it spring? Are the mares of Ponyville marauding for the flesh of stallions, hopped up on hormones and dandelion tea? No. In fact, the reason is far more embarrassing. But it isn't poor Macintosh's fault, you see. The fault lies with a reformed lord of chaos, and his lack of understanding (or empathy) of the after-effects of his unique magical powers.
