Nightmare Moon/Luna has been banished to the moon by her sister Celestia. However unknown to Celestia herself, Nightmare Moon/Luna had some extra baggage with her at the time....

Based off a picture post I saw floating around a site. I decided to write for 60 minutes to see what I could make. Here's the primary result.

She did not know how, she did not know why, but before her banishment on her moon, Nightmare Moon experienced every kind of pain. Pains of the mind, body, and spirit. But they healed in time, forgotten to memory.

But the greatest of pains was yet to come.

As the thousandth Summer Sun Celebration approaches, Celestia dares to dream that Luna will be willing to start over.

While he has returned from being absorbed into Unit-01, Shinji finds himself in an odd situation. Now, in a body that looks nothing like a human's and with a snarky roommate in his head, he has to deal with new powers and abilities while those around him shift.

And he thought that fighting Angels was weird...

Starswirl the Bearded developed a time-travel spell. A pony could use it - but only once, and only be in the past for about a minute.

One chance. One minute. That's all Princess Celestia has to save her sister from the Nightmare.

Nightmare Moon may have been defeated, but Princess Luna still struggles with her inner nightmares. It was so easy to give into the temptations of power the first time, now that she had a taste of it, can she give it up for good? Or will she return to her old ways and have to be banished again, this time forever?

A creature, known to ponykind as Nightmare Moon, ponders its past and its prison in Luna's mind.

Was made for this contest. It took me about an hour and a half to write, which really surprised me. Hope you enjoy.
