What if Twilight Sparkle had never discovered The Elements of Harmony? What if, instead, the defeat of Nightmare Moon had been left in the hooves of an entirely different group of characters? If the fate of Equestria had fallen on the haunches of six familiar ponies from the background of The Mane Six's lives, how would these secondary characters handle the spotlight?

This is a requested story from my friend for a little background on her pony's species. Again, this is alternate universe slightly and ties in with my very first story.

This story is a sequel to Hive Alive

After the chaotic series of events that created it, Twilight's small hive is now positioned with her at the peak of Equestrian authority. Not all are pleased by this. A coup has just been averted and the plots of those behind it may still be in motion.

With all other alicorns away and Discord gone with them, Equestria's history will be written by only one mare. She and her hive of friends and lovers are already being dragged into the tragedy of power-seeking pony elites, invaders, and ancient evils.

It begins as Cloudsdale falls...

1. Please see the age rating note below for a disclaimer on content and general story mood.
2. This is the direct sequel to Hive Alive. There is no significant time jump between stories.
3. Due to the length of Hive Alive and the time since it was finished, I have put together a useful timeline summary. Those interested in remembering key details from the 230,000+ word story will be able to do so easily. It is posted in a blog entry here.
4. Recommended to be read with the background color set to "Dark" via Formatting. It's the changeling thing to do. Chrysalis approved.

There will be more cheery scenes to come after the beginning chapters and thus this should not be confused with going the path of improperly tagged grimdark.

As a fan on MLP and a Brony, one of the most desired items is a pony plush. But which do I pick? One of the main six, a background pony? Who?! It isn't until I pick Rainbow Dash and take her home. After some time, I question if I made the right call? Or did I pick the right pony plush after all?

It has been barely been a week since the Battle of New Canterlot. The Grandmaster of the Vigilant Order - the Holy Order of Saint Applejack - is dead. The Holy Equestrian Diarchy has failed and is bleeding, driving its adherents apart and divided in panic. The Knights are adrift, in confusion and doubt.

But like all catastrophes, ponies will take a look and wish to blame something. To understand it. To know why. Reality can only be understood by ponies' worldviews, and from such a devastating battle, opinions are to be formed.

From the young Exegesis Rue, to the bureaucratic duo of Offset Hamlet and Soteria Solace, and to the grieving Philippic List - explanations are due. How does one explain a traumatic incident, impacting their friends and themselves? Their backgrounds, losses, and personality will pave the path. One can only hope that they make rational arguments...

...for this is the Vigilant Order, and Vigilance is Paramount.

Paramount Vigilance is set in Rekindled Embers written by applezombi. Technically, spoilers for Chapter 60 and onwards. Hypothetically, you do not need to read RE to understand this fic, but this is a hypothesis backed by sources that I made up, so I recommend reading it.

After breaking up with Autumn Leaf, Lemon Hearts try's a relationship with her old friend Twilight Sparkle

Author's Note: First fanic! Don't expect to much on me. I have revised the three chapters and starting to create the next one. Some scenes may contain foul languages and some unintentional sexual situations. I made the Cover art

Story: Griffin Wing was having miserable life in being a loser in mostly everything. When suddenly his life stumbles with an old archive book and sends him to a world named "Equestria". The world was inhabited with colored ponies and different mystical creatures. He must find his way home with the help of some known ponies, but as they get closer to their objective, a mysterious pony tale haunts Griffin.

Sometimes we choose who we fall in love with, sometimes life chooses for us. Minuette and Limestone Pie find themselves coming to grips with the latter.

Note: This takes place after the series finale. More specifically, after Twilight's coronation, but before the time skip, so expect a few spoilers. Also features Lyra, Sweetie Drops (or Bonbon), Moondancer, Twilight Sparkle, Princess Luna, Cloudy Quartz, September (y'know, the comic background cameo from Fringe), and doubtless many more in the future the way things are going. I even plan on big things happening for and to some of them.

It's tough being different. The suspicious glances, the unusual stares, the rumours based off of gossip and not cold, hard facts. All of it stemming from how you look, or act.

Midnight Oil: while being very different, he seemed to be content with this status in mind. He was proud of his intellect, magic prowess, his line of work as a scribe for the Princesses, and his heritage as a unicorn Sarosian—A "bat pony", in a sense—living in Canterlot.

Octavia Philharmonica: A drop-dead beauty, extremely talented with the cello, well-known, and highly respected. She's a member of one of the most prestigious families in Canterlot, and utilises that status to elevate to the top.

And upon meeting each other, both hated the other to the ends of the earth.

When the former must serve the latter for two months after he had unknowingly committed a misdemeanor, will the two's hate for one another remain the same, or will tolerance and love claw through abhorrence's black veil?

Opposites such as these two will no doubt attract… and will drive each other absolutely insane.

Whoo, boy. I'm gonna have FUN with this.

This one was inspired by a few things, rather than a newfound love for Octavia - now my favourite background pony. This was partially inspired by the anime Toradora! and the book The Kite Runner. But this was mostly inspired by you guys. You guys are beautiful, and everything you do is great (Except clopping: Celestia frowns upon that shit.)

Silver Hooves is my character, and a little while ago I decided to write a piece about her moving into ponyville. Eventually I added pieces to it and started to turn it into a story. She'll bump into custom ponies, background ones and spot the main characters from time to time. Feel free to read and rate, I'm doing this for fun mainly.
