At the peak of the War Against Conquest, Shining Armour is taken from the Crystal Warfront along with his baby daughter.
Captured by a cult preparing to resurrect the loathed usurper, Grand Ruler Celesto, he comes across various ponies he knows, either personally or by reputation.
With little good to say about any of them.
So begins a recollection of the deeper tales of friendship, of those it changed and those it didn't.
And as the cult steadily works towards its goal, Shining Armour and Flurry Heart still hold out hope.
For this is Equestria.

After Tirek's defeat at the hooves of Twilight Sparkle, Shining Armor is bothered by the fact that it has fallen to his sister to save his wife once again. Deciding that enough is enough he goes on a journey to obtain the Alicorn Amulet, in hopes that with it's power, he can brave the next threat and defend his wife. The problem is, he isn't the only one with designs for the amulet.....

(Not really dark, but there will be fighting, and death. So there's that.)

This will actually be a sequel to Waiting For The End to Come, so it's going to wait while I finish the other story.

Where did Celestia disappear to, the night of the 1,000th summer sun celebration?

Why didn't Nightmare Moon simply kill the mane six?

What was The Nightmare willing to do in its hatred, and The Princess willing to do for her beloved little ponies?

This is that fateful night, but told from perspectives we haven't seen.

After returning from their lovely honeymoon, Princess Cadance and her husband, the newly crowned prince, Shining Armor, return to Canterlot to see that their home is not the same as they left it. More questions pop up when Cadance finds a mysterious pony hidden in her room.

Who is this pony? Where did this pony come from? What was the pony doing in the Princess of Love's room? And why is this pony being really affectionate with Cadance? Join Cadance as she finds these answers to these questions on this emotional roller coaster, that will have the Princess of Love question how much does she truly know about what her title represents?

Story takes place after The Element of Hate, so there will be references. There will be some grammar and punctuation errors, but don't let that stop you from reading. I accept and appreciate constructive criticism.

Ever since the day that Sombra had finally taken over all of Equestria; he was very proud of himself, and happy that things are finally going his way. However, when the Mane Six showed up to stop him, he didn’t expect the results to wind up so, “childish”. Regardless, he has a responsibility now; and it’s definitely gonna be one that he won’t enjoy; not even if it were to happen again somehow.

Shining Armor is... mostly aware of what his little sister's been up to since the Friendship Games. Cadence keeps him in the loop, but she refuses to talk about some topics, insisting that it isn't her place to discuss them. When his phone rang a few moments ago, he thought Twilight had finally decided the time was right.

He's not entirely wrong, but he'll soon wish he had been.

When Sombra returns from his supposed death in the Crystal Empire, He plots to reconquer the Crystal Empire with Twilight Sparkle's help. However, he does not expect getting relegated to subordinate status. Meanwhile, in Ponyville, Starlight Glimmer gathers the former bearers of the Elements of Harmony to mount a rescue mission to get Twilight back. Will the evil rulers conquer the Empire? Edit 6/11/16: going on hiatus due to severe writer's block

The Celestial Era has lasted for hundreds of blissful, peaceful years. The Glorious Sun rules all, sees all, knows all. The citizens of Equestria are happy, perfect specimens- because they have no other choice, nor would they want it to be otherwise. A young mare, Twilight Sparkle, finds a small, unexpected, inquisitive spark leading her to ask questions. Difficult questions. Questions to which she will not like the answers.

For The Sun Rises, but The Sun Never Sets.
