This is set in the Equestria at War universe, and is inspired by The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

The eleventh century is not a stable time. From Equestria to the Griffonian Empire, from Kiria to Aris, war has become a more common feature than peace.

But in one corner of Zebrica, flanked between nations much greater, Maretania still stands, guarding the magical artefacts in The Cave as it has for centuries.

War has hardly touched the harmonic nation, and it has been lucky in that regard. Still, all is not well.

The Fourth House, one of the few original ruling families over the ancient lands of Maretania, found itself crushed in the seventh century for its radical ideals and dangerous usage of artefacts. The surviving families are the only remains of the footnote in history called the House of Troubles.

Many of these families spent the rest of their lives, and their children's lives after them, working on some semblance of a restoration, to no avail. Now, the only surviving heiress to the once great House, Eohippin Neighgoth, has turned to more unconventional methods to take what faithless minds stole.

After all, unconventional mages often times require unconventional methodology.

Cozy Glow, Tirek, Chrysalis, all are names feared by many. However, after their defeat, memories of them have started to fade.

Not Twilight's though, no she's thought of the incident every day since she ascended to the throne, and today she had a very disquieting thought.

"Didn't Discord say he could see while like that? What about them?"

So she asked and so he answered

In this Alternate turn of events, we see how the aftermath of Cozy Glow's villainous acts may have gone differently.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been married for some time, and after Cozy Glow nearly stole all of Equestria's magic and took over the school, they decide to take it upon themselves to insure the evil filly stays out of trouble. By taking her into their home, and raising her like their own child.

All the while, Rainbow sets out to prove she can be a good mother, Applejack sets out to show Cozy the value of caring for others, and Twilight sets out to mend a strained relationship.

As for Cozy, well, she just wants everypony to know who's top dog.

The rich bicker, and the poor suffer.
Celestia, a filly of twelve, is forced to take care of her sister Luna as the world dies around them, as the winter grows colder and the food grows scarce.
And when offered a deal -when tempted with salvation- can she really say no? Or will the cost be too great?

No, not just inspired, this is a direct spinoff (a rip-off, some might call it) of Dan's, so I have deliberately written this so that you have to read that first to fully experience this.

(So i was reading a crossover between the "My little pony" and "Saga of Tanya the Evil", where Tanya was reborn as a changeling and then, because of the name of the said story, i was struck by a wild idea, a spark of inspiration for a different canon character, in which Tanya the Evil can be reborn. And nobody would have notice the difference! In certain circumstances (c)). Surprisingly, it is Cadence.)
