Twilight finds an orphaned foal and adopts it as her own, but Celestia knows that this bright young life is not long for this world. She is faced with the dilemma of what to tell her student, but even she cannot know the implications of her decision.
Ponies wanted Celestia away, because in their minds, she wasn't able to protect them anymore. Now, many years later, a powerless Celestia returns to Canterlot. Why was she called? What do they need her for?
After Celestia humiliates her at a dinner, Luna storms off and ends up snooping around in her sister's room. There, she stumbles upon the journal Celestia kept immediately after the banishment of Nightmare Moon.
