Equestria is sometimes referred to as the land of second chances, all the more so after Luna's return. Songs are sung of Princess Celestia's benevolence and forgiveness, and legends are told that she can look directly into a creature's heart and see whether there is good in them. Others whisper that she is soft, and weak, and will let anypony off with a slap on the wrist.

Neither is quite true, but there was quite a firestorm of rumours when she decided to set Discord free. Many would like to know what precisely she was thinking to attempt to put a leash on a being who could plunge the land into chaos with a casual thought, but Celestia has kept the reasons close to her chest.

She's pretty sure nopony would believe her anyway. Sometimes the truth is stranger than rumours.

As Flurry watches over her Aunt's last hours, she has to reflect on a world without her last connection to her past. As she comes to terms with what's ahead of her, Twilight prepares in her own way for her end through memories and dreams of friends long gone. As the two move towards the inevitable end, something from the past may end up helping both of them move on.

Quick Authors Note: This is my attempt at something bittersweet. It's new territory for me and I completely understand if the passing of our favorite magical horses is not something you want to read about! Starlight Glimmer set off to defend Equestria from another ugly threat. She can't see it, can't hear it, but its here. It's here, she's found it, and she's going to destroy it on her own. No matter what it takes.

Finals had just finished up at the School of Friendship, which meant that the weekend was wide-open for the relieved students on campus. However, since the recent actions of Cozy Glow still lingered guilt across the student body, a group of students decided to take take advantage of their newfound freedom with a gracious visit. They were hoping to find the Student Six in their dorm rooms so they could present a thoughtful gift, and some much-needed apologies for their involvement with the sadistic filly. Unfortunately, the group were only met with Smolder when they tried to state their case.

And to make matters worse, the dragon did not seem too keen on accepting their forgiveness right off the bat.

Can Turquoise and her friends manage to break through Smolder's gruff exterior and prove their atonement? Or is there a deeper reason for the dragoness' resistance to their claims?

Earth-pony Twilight Sparkle has always been a little "out there". But while testing her latest crazy idea, she finds that there are places even farther than that...

When pursuing Starlight, Twilight and Spike experienced variances of Equestria, and saw how the river of time could have been different.
