I loved this story. I can't help but feel that the Mane 5 's initial reactions to Starlight are reflective of the fandom's current divisive opinion regarding her characterization and reformation. If so kudos to you. If not well, still a great fic in my opinion.

Welp. The sad thing is, I'd actually buy that explanation way more than the actual one, slightly silly though it is. (I mean, c'mon it's doubleWbrothers...)
You should put this in of those "Twilight becomes a mother" groups. Should help this story pick up some likes, and it's unique storyline is pretty compelling. Just imagine Twilight's parents and everyone else's reactions.

Twilight may have done something good..... Something that takes a great deal of sacrifice. But.... I can;t help but feel that her actions are wrong somehow.... That her manipulating the time-stream in such a way.... That her slowly reforming Starlight for years in the background.... It feels.... Wrong... It feels like Twilight just performed an act of a god.... All right... I'll say that isn't a problem, but I can;t help but throw up a little. Maybe it's because I'm too much of a rebellious quack to actually accept this.
Oooh, okay, I get it now. Starlight getting 'new memories' in the past wasn't new memories at all. It was Twilight's memory spell collapsing because it had served it's purpose. And thus a stable time loop was formed. This... actually works, well done.

I always preferred the comic over the canon ending. I mean it was much more hearfelt! Twimom helping out a poor lonely filly is just the best idea I have ever read in a comic!

Then it turns out nothing was actually changed, this a predestination paradox all along.
i hope this is actually about her growing up with Twilight.
I still hope this isn't giving Spike an execuse to date Rarity but maybe rather a different dragon.
However I thought that this maybe makes me enjoy him more in a story.
not sure what to think of this, it could be interessting, but I heard once a version where she didn't had to outgrow them.
To me and some others it still looks like this is a pretty real possibility. I think this was interessting even if I hoped for Starlight to get transformed into a filly.

I honestly prefer the comic to this fic, but that's partly because of the adorable art. Still, this was decent enough.

If this was the actual ending to season 5,
I would have applauded the writers for taking this approach.
