On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created.

Now, a little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Is she Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those who refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat?

Or, will Nyx be forced to inherit the sins that may not even be hers and become the greatest evil Equestria has ever known?

Twilight and her best friends were spending the rest of their Spring Break Vacation by relaxing on their second trip on the yacht after saving everyone from the magical storm cloud a couple days back. They were about to start filming their music video of their new song, until Twilight's dog, Spike, came over and requested to join in. What got everyone's attention was that Spike was wearing some kind of street outfit and that he wanted to contribute to the video by... rapping.

Twilight had no idea what led her dog into wanting to try out rapping, so she decided to have a bone to pick with him... again!

When she noticed a huge crowd gathering around in one place, Twilight was curious until she spotted a certain magician from her school, performing her street magic in front of the crowd. What really got Twilight's attention was that her dog, Spike, was strapped in some kind a box and was about to be cut in half by Trixie. After saving Spike with her own magic, Twilight decided she have a bone to pick with the self-proclaimed magician.

As Twilight sets up for tonight's sleepover, Pinkie brought over exactly twenty-eight cookies for everypony at the sleepover. Pinkie claimed that the seven of them (including Spike) should have thirteen cookies each as an even amount. Pinkie’s logic doesn’t make any sense to Twilight and wants Pinkie to prove it to her if seven times thirteen really does equal to twenty-eight.

On the night of Christmas Eve, the CMCs are having a sleepover, talking about what to post next as "Anon-a-Miss". Sweetie Belle is getting worried about Sunset, but Apple Bloom and Scootaloo ignored her worries and told her that Sunset will be fine.

But later that night, they were shocked when they were visited by the ghosts of Apple Bloom's parents, who express their disappointment in them and wanting Apple Bloom to confess to being Anon-a-Miss and make things right. When Apple Bloom refuses to do so, her parents then warned the girls that they will be visited by three ghosts later tonight. Apple Bloom brushes this off, thinking her parents were just joking, only to find that they weren't the next time they woke up.

Based on a classic Charles Dickens' story, "A Christmas Carol".

It had been a rough week for Sunset after the whole Anon A Miss fiasco left a painful scar on Sunset's soul. Can she get over her pain though and find a little bit of Heaven on Christmas Eve?

Written for the Sunset Shipping Contest: Changing Seasons.

After hearing from Sunset about the Anon-A-Miss scandal at Canterlot High, Twilight decides to set things straight. Right after she gives her friends an earful on how stupid they are.
