Through last minute preparations and rushed circumstances by visiting Apple relatives, Applebloom is accidentally left home alone the week of Hearth's Warming Eve. Unfortunately for her, a familiar pair of rivals return to seek revenge. Will she be able to defend her home and still have a wonderful Hearth's Warming Eve?

(Obvious title is obvious, but we need a good nod to Home Alone! If Fallout and Luigi's Mansion can be done, then by golly we're gonna have a holly jolly Christmas this year. Hopefully it will be completed by said holiday. Oh man, that would just be awkward if I didn't finish it in time, right? That would totally mean I ruined Christmas.

In 2011 A.D. (After Discord), a crack unicorn strategist was sent to Ponyville by Princess Celestia herself to learn about the magic of friendship. This unicorn promptly formed a group of maximum-ability friends from the population of Ponyville. Today, still under the command of Princess Celestia, they survive as ponies of fortune. Life hasn't been easy for Prince Blueblood ever since a certain unicorn mare lashed out at him. In fact, he's barely a prince in everything but title.

Hoping to take his mind off his troubles, Blueblood pays a visit to a casino in Canterlot, where he soon discovers he's not the only one who's life has been ruined.

So, instead of simply playing cards, these ponies decide to see who's had it the worst. And each of them are convinced that their story cannot be beaten. And Blueblood will be darned if he sits out on this discussion.

After Scootaloo gets Sweetie Belle an incredibly generous gift, Sweetie Belle finds herself struggling to think of some way she can repay her. She finally decides on giving Scootaloo the one thing she's always wanted more than anything else, but can she manage to pull off such an ambitious endeavor, especially when she's holding herself to the standards of her big sister?

And what are Flim and Flam trying to push on her?

This is a story about the perils of being too hard on oneself, and realizing that sometimes, all it takes to repay a friend is to be yourself. It's meant to flow just like an episode of the show. Nothing outside of what you'd expect from a CMC-centered outing.
