Hearth's Warming Eve is one of the worst times of the year for Scootaloo. With a father who left years ago and rarely contacts her and a mother who pays her little attention, family togetherness is only a remote possibility. The only thing she has to look forward to is a gift and a smile from Rainbow Dash. When even this seems to have been taken from her, Scootaloo decides she's better off wandering the streets than staying at home feeling sorry for herself.
While meandering in a mostly empty Ponyville, Scootaloo comes across somepony whose even more alone than she is.

Rainbow and Scootaloo are closer then ever after Rainbow truly adopted her. She taught Scootaloo everything she knew and helped her persevere until she could fly almost as good as she can. But there is one thing she has not taught Scootaloo yet. One thing she has treasured doing for years, The most sacred and amusing of acts.

Everypony in Ponyville is having a blast, what with Christmas coming up. But one pony, Scootaloo, isn't having a great time. Rainbow Dash is in the hospital, after she and Scootaloo encountered some rough ponies. She had some scratches, but Dash had some major injuries. Scootaloo worries that Dash won't make it. The Mane Six and some others notice her droopiness, so they team up to make a super fun party for Scootaloo's happiness, also included with some singing! This musical is a joy to read, unless you don't like your favorite pony being injured and in the hospital!
