Equestria may have suffered directly from the war, but nopony there has any idea of the war against the elements occurring far north, in what once was the proud, beautiful Crystal Empire. There, a heart long forgotten waits, buried beneath two centuries of snow, as descendants of survivors fight both the constant snow and each other to survive in the brutal frozen wasteland of the North.

Meanwhile, forces running deeper than the scars of the past begin to awaken under the ancient land, memories of old and nightmares long since dead taking root once again...

Based on kkat's Fallout Equestria, set in a place utterly unreferenced in the original fic, this is my first fanfic. Credit to Cascadejackal for the temporary cover art, and for massive help with editing and bouncing ideas with.

The world wasn't always like this, rather you believe it or not, there was a time. A time when you got help, when you weren't shoot at and killing wasn't an everyday thing. Now all that's changed for the worse ...but what lead up to this, how did it start? Well, I can tell you ...because I was there, I saw the world get swallowed up in balefire and radiation.

From one world, to another. I was taken out of the frying pan and thrown straight into the fire. The thing was that back then, I didn't even know it, until it was too late.

Crossword is a Steel Ranger in training. Being born into the Far South Contingent as an initiate, she had only one goal in her life: To don the uniform of the Steel Ranger's and bring order the Wastelands of the Far South and beyond.
However she lacks many of the practical skills needed for a ranger, being better suited as a scribe. She needs the adventure, and the only way to prove herself is to be brave.
Little does she know that the honourable Steel Rangers of the Far South Contingent that she had learned about in books and training, are only a fraction of the actual truth.

What will she discover, what will she become and will she follow her heart?

Expect the same sort of level of gore in the original Fallout: Equestria story, but dulled down to teen level, if there is a demand for more detail, let me know in the comments

Also go easy on the criticism, I really appreciate those who correct grammar and spelling and missing ponyisms, but don’t be too harsh, I'm open to suggestions always

Story inspired by Kkat's popular story Fallout: Equestria. I recommend reading it first before reading the Prologue. It's long, but so worth it :)

A stormy and dark night would have completed the visual picture that was her current predicament. Despite being in complete symbiosis with the multiple minds of the Goddess, she had somehow been overtaken by a mere shotgun. Her horn was flung off and with it any magic that she could cast. Inadvertently, this also severed her connection with the greater mind that did all the thinking for her.

Jordan Hughes aged 18 and Kieran Richardson Aged 23 these are the British marines who had volunteered to go on the first mission for the brand new Military helicopter to clear out the largest organised Taliban uprising ever seen, after all the trouble with Islamic State 6 years Prior they wanted to clean this out before it could become a hazard for the people of the world, what they did not expect though, is the chopper to disappear without a trace. for humanity, they lost one helicopter it is not a large deal. But for where that chopper has gone, they may have gained something far greater than they ever could have expected. As for the marines themselves, they will make it up as they go along.

This is our story, my story. Starting from our last day breathing Earth air to now. and boy it was one hell of a bumpy ride, Lt Lyra Locke reporting from the middle of a dirty building in the middle of asshole nowhere, trying to make this place...a better place.

There are quite a lot of reasons to dislike the wasteland.

Especially the dying part.

Yeah, that really can suck.

Truth is, there's nothing good in a world filled with malice, hatred and the only goal is to survive. When Stable 100 is lied to, a pair of ponies are going to learn that the Wasteland hates happiness, and it's determined to suck it out of these two. With the help of friends, they just might be able to do something about it. Or find some popcorn and watch it all happen. Anything's possible.

But it's time to teach the Wasteland it doesn't always get what it wants.

I am going to tell you a funny story.

I know little one, I tell you funny stories all the time. But this one is different. This is a story filled with adventure, entwined with thick romance! Encircled in decite and the deepest shadows of mystery! This is a story of beutiful art that has spured tales bound your wildest dreams.

And it is about a young zebra mare trying to find her place. Trying to find her home. Trying to find her honor. And of course, trying to be funny!

I supose this is not a funny story. But it is an important one. And one that shall teach you everything about why we are here now, and what we will do next.

Nyx, daughter of Twilight Sparkle, awakes to a world torn by war and ravaged by nuclear fallout. Alone, she is given the task to write down the final days of the heroes of Equestria to let the world know of their brave exploits, but is given a much harder task-to live her life as best as she can.

But, how can one live, if one sees herself as a monster. How can one live on, when there is nothing to live for?

A normal night of exploration goes south - quite literally - as two friends since foalhood wind up crash-landing far from their home, left with only their wits, their clothes, and their own company in a strange, new land north of Vanhoover. With a far more populated and dangerous wasteland before them, and their entrance certainly not having gone unnoticed, they race to get back home - though with their mode of transport out of commission, and the weather getting worse by the day, their chances of seeing their fathers again grow slimmer and slimmer.
