No marriage is without its challenges, especially not that of Spike and Rarity. Despite the fairy tale-like circumstances surrounding their courtship (Beauty and the Beast is a popular reference made at dinner parties), their relationship is far from perfect: indeed, the combination of her overwhelmingly large dress orders and his frequent extended trips across Equestria as Celestia's personal envoy makes it seem as though neither one of them has any time for their significant other. Yet there is one key factor, one constant variable in their lives that will always be there to remind them of how much they love and care for one another, no matter what issues they face.

Spike has tried to become the perfect knight; unfortunately Rarity rejects him. His cries of anguish do not go unheard in the moonlit night. Luna comforts the ailing dragon however her hurting heart yearns too. Meanwhile Rarity realizes what she is missing and sets forth to undo her mistake. However, as Spike gets closer to the Night Princess intrigue is sure to follow.

Deep in Gryphona, frozen land of the griffins, a mysterious pony searches for the friend who has been running from her for a hundred years. What do you do, however, when the friend you once knew is not the same as he used to be? What do you do if he is now a danger to innocents? What should you do when it is all your fault?

Written for the griffin-themed flashfic event on Equestria Daily. Thematically influenced by the short 2010 film Sintel. Teen because griffins have pottymouths. Rated just in case, though an average page of YouTube comments is probably worse.

Spike writes a letter to anyone in particular, in hopes of it reaching his dear friends someday, in it he talks about his memories, promises and motives that lead him to become what today is for his friends and what he wishes to accomplish.

With no warning, the might of the Griffon kingdom descends upon Equestria. Twilight, in her desperation, teleports Spike as far away from the conflict as she can in the hope of saving his life. Completely lost for the first time in his life, Spike must learn how to survive in the world alone.

But, when he finds out about the fate of Equestria and what could possibly be happening to his friends, can Spike realize the true might that comes with being a dragon? And will it be enough to help him reclaim the only treasures he ever allowed himself to hoard: his friends?

Spike gets an exclusive interview for the Crystal Empire's local newspaper and he couldn't be more excited. Everything goes swimmingly until the interviewer asks a surprisingly difficult question.

What does Twilight Sparkle mean to him?

One would think he would know off the top of his head, but, to be honest, he never really thought about it. What exactly does Twilight mean to him?

Spike, now 18, has come to realize that he can't stay in Twilight's castle forever. He decides that it's time to finally move out. Twilight, however, seems to have trouble accepting this. After raising Spike for so long, is she able to let him go?

Update 6/12/2014: I've done some editing to touch up some grammar errors and tidy up the dialogue a bit. No drastic changes but hopefully the little tweaks will make the story easier to read.

The World Famous Flim Flam Brothers, having been forced to put their cider-making days behind them, have "collected" all of the rare and exotic creatures they've encountered during their travels in order to create a circus of mythology the likes of which has never been seen before! Spike, being the final addition to the show, must use everything he's learned from Twilight Sparkle in order to take back his freedom, rescue his comrades in captivity, and return home.

Spike finds himself in the middle of nowhere, and with no way of getting back home. For a journey this big its gonna take two, and Spike forges an unsteady partnership with a unlikely pony.

Embarked on a dangerous journey to reach his home Spike is gonna have to keep an ace up his sleeve, call some bluffs, and hope his companion hasn't stacked the deck in her favor. Tempers flare, teeth will be grit, and things will never be the same. Enough napping young dragon, it's your turn for an adventure.

Kudos, and thanks too my beta-readers xgfhj, Lium, and Dataguy who've been patient enough to deal with the multitude of grammar issues that plague my stories, and all around have been a great help.
