Who is Sunset Shimmer? There's more to one person (or pony) that only what there is to see. After all, there's right and wrong in everything and everyone.

At last, Apple Bloom has begun to fall for Sweetie Belle. The teenage Apple can't sleep without dreaming of her. Encouraged by Applejack's relationship with Sunset Shimmer, she wants to make Sweetie Belle the happiest girl in the world. But the harshness of life will undoubtedly teach her that some doors can't swing certain ways.

Inspired by some of my life lessons in falling in love with people who couldn't reciprocate their love for me. Hope you enjoy this.

This story is a sequel to A Tale of Two Twilights

After learning about her human self and the events that transpired in Friendship Games, Princess Twilight Sparkle and Spike make it a mission to learn more about the humans that Sunset has lived with for years. Everything seems to be moving along swimmingly, but when magic begins to terrorize the Rainbooms from an outside force, the two Equestrians learn that a lot has changed since that fateful night during the Fall Formal.

Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer's human counterpart is preparing for the investigation that would either launch her career to new heights, or destroy it in an instant.

Sunset Shimmer has been harboring a crush on Twilight Sparkle for a long time, one she knew could never go anywhere. This became doubly frustrating after the appearance of Twilight Sparkle. But what if she has a real shot this time? There's only one way to find out, by talking to Twilight Sparkle.

Sunset Shimmer is visited by her conscience. Her very annoying conscience.

HAPPY SUNSET SHIMMER!

Applejack's home has many extra rooms, but one is a bit more special than the rest. A tiny guestroom sits right above her bed, with an open trap door in between. Perfect for late-night chats when the thoughts are too loud for sleep.

People with nowhere to go, or no one else to talk to. Friends in need of support, and enemies in need of friends. They all find their way to that guestroom. Applejack is the rock of the group, and that won't be changing anytime soon.

...That's the plan, anyway.

Twilight crosses the mirror portal to pursue Sunset Shimmer after the theft of the Element of Magic. She finds herself in a world of odd two-legged creatures, and for some reason they're all obsessed with a card game called "Duel Monsters." Twilight soon learns that the only way to get her crown back is to win it in the school's semi-annual duel tournament, of which Sunset has been the reigning champion three rounds running. The tournaments have divided the school, and split up a group of five friends similar to Twilight's friends in Equestria.

Twilight now faces her biggest adventure yet. She must master Duel Monsters, reconcile these other versions of her friends, and defeat Sunset to win the Autumn Crown. And she has only three days to pull it off. It's time to duel!

After nearly destroying Canterlot High School and ruining the Fall Formal, Sunset Shimmer is already not feeling too chipper. Summer is coming, finals are looming, and she's got no one who can truly understand what she's feeling.

And then there's a complicated mix of emotions she has for a star soccer player...

Luckily, Sunset does have one old friend she can still talk to.
