A town deep in the Mild West has been subject to repeated raids by the bandito bull King Longhorn and his gang of Cattle Rustlers. Her new opponent claims that Raindrops hurt her own little brother and insists that they duel, but though Raindrops knows she can't possibly win such a challenge, she also knows that Snails may wind up in the crossfire if she doesn't deal with this new enemy immediately. Raindrops soon learns that force of arms won't work, and neither will any other trick in her playbook. The return of Baron Mounty Max, Duchess Fragrant Posey and other members of the Night Court.

The recent upheaval of the court caused by the Grand Galloping Gala and Princess Luna's ultimatum after was supposed to reform the body into a less corrupt form. However, many of the old members and some of the old problems still remain in place as well as a host of new ones.

This story follows the events at court through the eyes of Max and Fragrant during the Lunaverse second season. Max faces problems both at court and at home as he continues to settle into his role. His relationship with Fragrant also deepens and they both find out more about each other, not all of it good.

Takes place in the Lunaverse during season 2.

Mounty Max was a simple stallion happy to be he Mayor of the town of Sadlzburg on the northern border of Equestria. It came as quite a surprise when his town was made the capital of the new province of Nulpar and he was ennobled as it's Baron.

These are the adventures of Max and his goat assistant Mrs Grobnar as they try to survive the dangers of the night court of Equestria. On the way Max just might find him self a very special somepony in the form of Duchess Fragrant Posey of Cloudsdale. Together maybe they can return light to the corrupt heart of Equestria's government.
