A few years have passed since the events of Hocus Pocus, and the lives of Ditzy Doo and her daughter Dinky have never been more exciting. Dinky's final year of study at Celestia's Academy for Gifted Unicorns is about to begin, and Ditzy's relationship with her coworker, Autumn Breeze, has blossomed into a beautiful partnership.

But when a figure from both ponies' past reappears, events quickly escalate out of control, and soon, Ditzy and Dinky find themselves wrapped up in what may be the greatest crisis Equestria has ever faced.

In this final chapter of the Shipping and Handling trilogy, two ponies learn about the greatest magic of all.

Twilight Sparkle has seen her life overturned over recent months. Magic has been spreading through Canterlot High ever since Princess Twilight first came through the portal from Equestria. Cloud Kicker's slowly been figuring out how to use the new magical powers she acquired from her girlfriend Rainbow Dash. Even if it was a bit of a shock at first, it's magic! Who wouldn't be excited to have it? It certainly makes life at CHS more interesting.

However, just because she has magic powers doesn't mean she can control them, and when Cloud's magic goes haywire it quickly becomes apparent that she needs more help than what Sunset can offer on her own. Finding a solution means taking a trip to the magical land of Equestria, but Cloud might not like what she finds when she goes through the looking glass.

I do what I love, I love what I do, and what I do is make music that gets ponies pumped. I mean, you've probably seen me around. Truth be told I'm kind of everywhere—from Canterlot to Manehatten—doing fashion shows, clubs, weddings, and at least two royal shindigs post-changeling invasion. Funny thing about that though...

However, the entry of Freeport’s forces turn the tide in Equestria’s favor. Archon Sunset Shimmer and her army smash into the fray, breaking the long, brutal siege of Manehattan and shifting the balance in Equestria’s favor. The winter weather doesn't agree with Cranky, and this year it came much too quickly for him. Then the love of his life, Matilda, makes him promise to give the winter a chance. Cranky will do anything for Matilda, and what he discovers may just surprise him.

Sunset Shimmer, the Magus of Freeport, has always been of two minds regarding Strumming Heartstrings. The Equestrian spy is irritating, difficult to work with, and does a lot of things Sunset doesn't approve of. However, when an old enemy leaves Strumming on death's door, Sunset will have to decide how far she's willing to go to bring her attackers to justice.

Despite all the ugly complications and drama of high school, things have gone pretty well for Cloud Kicker. Sure, there was that one crazy incident where Sunset Shimmer turned into a demon. And the one with the Sirens; then Twilight turned into a demon too, and the freaky bug monsters in the sewers—and then everything that happened at Camp Everfree. The most normal thing in Cloud's life is her relationship with Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow now has magical superpowers.

That's not to say everything in Cloud's life is perfect. She's never really seen eye-to-eye with her mother, but that's hardly unusual for a teenager. At least, until a misunderstanding blows up in the worst way possible. When Cloud uncovers a shocking consequence of her relationship with Rainbow, it might be just what she needs to patch things up with her mother ... or it could tear their relationship apart completely.
