Princess Celestia has hosted the Grand Galloping Gala for hundreds of years, the grandest party in all of Equestria and said to be without peer—and has hated every year of it. Now that her sister has returned to her, she hopes to share this painful royal duty. Shame for her that Princess Luna wants nothing to do with the Gala, or any of the other princesses for that matter. Luna is going to have to use all her wits and skills to stay one step ahead of her sister and be anywhere but the Gala.

After a long day of ruling Equestria, the Royal Sisters need a chance to unwind. Luna's solution is a few glasses of her once famous Moonshine, a drink distilled from moonlight. Celestia has been sober for a thousand years, but the temptation to have "just one" glass proves too great. Yet, when that one glass turns into several, it's Twilight who will have to deal with the princesses when they’re drunk off their flanks.

Celestia feels lonely as she and Luna reconnect, only while Luna watches and takes in the sights before her she notices a hidden sadness in Celestia.

Twilight Sparkle is a gifted student when it comes to math and science, but even the smartest unicorns can struggle to control their magical abilities. And when precision fails her in her latest assignment for art class, Princess Celestia is more than happy to offer her help in overcoming the challenge.

Nightmare Moon was but an old mare's tale, simple childhood hogwash, and with it the fact that Equestria had once had two princesses. Celestia thinks back on Luna and her eventual descent into madness, descent into a Nightmare.

It all burned down one day, a long time ago. She could only watch, and still she watches in her sleep. Injured, crawling in the dirt, she always sees the same scene. Always the same.

Princess Cadance is weak.

The alicorn takes flight to where it all started. Live or die, the alicorn would put an end to her pain.
