Equestria: A nation stretching across the mighty continent of Equis. The vast and diverse land, ranging from the Crystal Mountains of the Far North to the deserts of Saddle Arabia, it has seen many a foe and has defeated them all. However, something was different. Everywhere from the mighty city of Canterlot to the humble town of Ponyville, from busy Manehattan to quiet Our Town, one thing is common: there is no sentient life left. Outside of Equestria, the result is essentially the same, with any sentient race suddenly gone from their settlements. Based on the television series Life After People, this story will try to repeat the energy that the series has done. This isn't the story of how they might vanish...it's the story of what will happen to the world they left behind.

When Twilight wakes up one day, she sets out to have a wonderful morning- only to find that Rarity has Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. Confused by this, Twilight asks her how she got "her" cutie mark, and Rarity's story leads to wondering about her other friends' stories.

It took about two years of collaboration between Princess Cadence and Twilight to create the spell, the first of it's kind: A spell to allow two mares to bear a child together. And Twilight, obviously, was the first in line to test it.

But reporters aren't known for their respect of privacy, much less for a newborn princess. Between news ponies using increasingly invasive methods to get the smallest scraps of information, a baby with too much buck to her, and packed working schedules, Twilight and Applejack have an uphill battle to protect their new daughter- And their sanity.

Twilight Sparkle has a problem: she can never quite convince herself that she has remembered to pack everything she needs for school. And that terrifies her.

After all, what if she fails out of school? Or what if Princess Celestia decides she no longer deserves to be her personal student?

The only thing Twilight can do is check her saddlebags.

And check again.

And again.

And maybe a fourth time?

But what if that’s the problem and she needs to learn to live with uncertainty?
