A/N: This is my first story here in 3-4 years. Enjoy, and pardon the inevitable rust that comes with years of absence.

Two hundred years ago, Luna disappeared, and a few hours later, so did Celestia. Twilight explains the real reason why, and what it had to do with what Celestia had discovered in the vast and brutal world of the humans a thousand years prior: a being far more ancient, powerful, and inscrutable than anything Celestia had ever known.

Sequel: Celestia Wanderer

The girls have returned from camp with new friendships, new powers, and new concerns and hopes. Twilight and Sunset ask them all to come to Sweet Apple Acres house to take part in an experiment, minus the magic balloon torrent and rainbow explosions with any luck, and try to learn just what they can all do now and what they should be doing with their powers. But plans don't always go as expected, particularly when the fabric of reality gets torn asunder above you.

In a similar but at the same time very different world Progenitor Liam Harcourt and his people find themselves the victims of a surprise attack. Hammered by weapons they have no defense against and with complete annihilation a very real possibility they have no choice but to evacuate and rebuild their strength. First though they'll have to make it past the gauntlet of mankind's wrath and they're throwing everything they can at them.

Unbeknownst to both, in darkness malice and strife embodied is stirring from centuries of sleep. It's made its plans, placed it pieces on the table, and now waits for the chance to break free from the bounds that shackle it. All it needs is the right key to free it, and it may have found just the one.

Whether the meeting of this group of magical friends and the outcasts of a wounded Earth is in peace or rage may very well decide the fate of both their worlds.

Moondancer, recluse magical researcher. Caught in something of a slump with her current line of research, she winds up getting dragged to a local dance club with a few of her friends. In the absolute last place she expected to be, she found someone she never expected to have something in common with.

Antino, one of the few humans in Equestria. He's lived there for a couple of years now, but hasn't really found his 'place' in the world. Living with a roommate in Canterlot, he tends to take the occasional oddjob to earn bits. While visiting a regular haunt, he meets a mare that for some reason, just sticks in his mind.

A chance encounter with a dash of fate and a little magic.

Sometimes events are just meant to be.

Now switched to 'T' because Stella has no filter and censoring her is a crime.

Fluttershy and Soarin have been through a lot together as a couple, and it would be an understatement to say they think about each other often. Unfortunately, he is always training and going around Equestria to preform, so they can only communicate through letters the majority of the time.

However, when Spitfire decides to let the Wonderbolts take off for a few days, Soarin knows exactly what he's going to do with his time off: see Fluttershy and show her how much he appreciates her.

This story is a sequel to The Mare that eats The Monsters

(This story is a direct sequel to The Mare that eats The Monsters, and reading that story is highly recomended to understand what's happening in this one.)

The horrors of that one night are still fresh in the minds of everypony in Equestria, even now, two months later. Hundreds of ponies were mercilessly slaughtered and Princess Celestia was killed by Luminous Horizon, her duties falling to her younger sister. Despite how confident she had seemed that her sacrifice would not be in vain, things have only gotten worse since then. The sun's light is begining to fade, casting the world into an unsettling eldritch abyss.

With the sinister omen of the sun's waning light looming over all of Equestria and the hunger of the fiends ever growing, Moonrise Drifter now pursues Luminous Horzion, eager for answers and vengance.

The story of 'The Mare that eats the Monsters' is an old, but still very well known Equestrian campfire and bed time story, often told to scare little fillies and colts into behaving themselves. It tells of a mare who loves Equestria and the ponies who live in it despite how frighteningly different she is. She protects ponies across Equestria from nightmarish creatures and monsters that would seek to kill ponies wherever possible.
What most ponies don't realize, but what Twilight Sparkle is soon to learn, is that the mare of the story was and is very real.

And the stakes of her mission have never been higher.

(This story has the horror tag, yes, but it isn't the dominant theme here.)
