Sunset Shimmer, after gathering up her courage, decides to try and hit on the human world's Twilight. Little did she know that this simple action would spur the two of them into a fiery debate over a timeless question, one that humans and ponies alike have pondered for ages:

Lately, Twilight has been developing some unfamiliar...feelings for a certain white-furred fashionista in Ponyville. And, judging by Rarity's rather flirtatious manner, she feels the same way. But Twilight has never been in love before. And from what she's heard, falling in love is a little like dying. You don't come out of it the same pony you went in. A part of you is lost forever. Is that really what she wants?

Tonight was the night that, finally, Sunset Shimmer was gonna do what she has been waiting to do for a long time: ask Twilight Sparkle out! Luckily for her, she has friends that can help guide her through the process, so now, nothing can possibly go wrong!

Sunset Shimmer hates the magicless world of mutant apes she's been trapped in for the last four moons, but at least she's making some progress on improving her situation. Now if only the short-sighted fools surrounding her would stop getting in her way, she could show them. She'd show them all!

Note that this particular Sunset has yet to encounter the concept of the "mad scientist." Not until later today, anyway.

Both of them may find they have something to learn about rejection, how to deal with it, and if a friendship really can become something more intimate.
